Our ride begins deep in Alentejo, eventually slowing down near the castle of Alter do Chão to&nbsp;enjoy a delicious local lunch. Continue riding to our first historic hotel, a 14th c. converted landmark tower. This evening, we’ll tour the property’s winery and sit down for a fabulous welcome dinner. &nbsp;

Set out on a loop ride through historic villages and into the Serra de Mamede Natural Park, stopping at a local winery along the way for a tasting and gourmet picnic. Challenge yourself to a Century ride or head back to the hotel for a relaxing afternoon. Tonight, chef Ruben will prepare an incredible meal for us, followed by a stargazing lesson. &nbsp;

This morning’s ride takes us west toward Evora, where we’ll dive into Portugal’s famous cork industry. Continue riding to our friend Nuno’s farm for a tour of his family’s estate and a sampling of their wine over a delicious homemade meal. Following a magical event over cocktails, spend the evening exploring Evora’s many dining options.&nbsp;

Joined by our local guide, we’ll spend the morning learning about Evora’s layered history, wandering its narrow streets and stopping to see some of its most important monuments. Then, pedal along Alentejo’s Atlantic coast, stopping for a fresh seafood lunch on the beach. Enjoy cocktails and live music on the terrace this evening, followed by an incredible dinner.&nbsp;

Our day begins at a traditional azulejo factory, where local artisans will show us the process of creating Portugal’s iconic ceramic tiles. Then we’re back on our bikes, cycling to the Setubal piers where our catamaran is waiting. Cruise past the Arrábida cliffs and enjoy a picnic on board, before our final night celebration dinner is served.

After one final breakfast, depart the hotel this morning and head to the Lisbon airport for a final farewell.

After catching a morning flight from Vienna, we’ll ease into Romania with a warm welcome in Sibiu. Enjoy lunch followed by a gentle afternoon ride that introduces the landscape. This evening, enjoy a welcome cocktail and dinner in the heart of this storied town.

Ride from the village of Cristian through open farmland, colourful towns, and gently rolling hills toward Sibiu. After lunch in Agora, we'll visit the ASTRA Museum—Europe’s largest open-air ethnographic museum. This evening, explore the cobbled streets and fortified squares of Sibiu on foot before dining at one of the city’s top restaurants.

Ride through a storybook landscape of forests, fields, and fortified churches, pausing for la private lunch in Alma Vii. Continue to Biertan—home to one of the most beautiful medieval churches in Transylvania. End the day in a tranquil countryside retreat with a wine-paired tasting menu that brings the flavours of the region to life.&nbsp;

On our bikes, we'll ride a scenic loop from Dumbrăveni through quiet countryside, past Roma villages, vineyards, and lush meadows, before returning for lunch in town. This afternoon, visit the medieval city of Sighișoara, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, for a guided tour and free time to explore and dine at your own pace.

Ride through picturesque Transylvanian villages, passing rolling hills, fields, and forests before reaching the medieval town of Făgăraș, home to an impressive citadel. After exploring the fortress, we're off to Matca. This evening, soak in the surroundings over dinner and drinks.

Tackle your final ride, an exhilarating loop through the Carpathian Mountains with challenging climbs and descents, before a well-earned lunch on a local terrace. End the day with a private tour of Bran Castle, followed by a memorable dinner inside its ancient walls, celebrating your Romanian adventure.&nbsp;

After one final breakfast, we'll head to the city of Brasov. Look around the medieval city before we enjoy one last lunch. Then, we'll take the train back to Bucharest for onward travels.

Be aware that lunches and dinners in Catalonia are scheduled later than you may be used to. Lunch is typically served from 1:00pm to 3:30pm, and dinner often starts around 8:30pm.

Some of the biking routes you’ll enjoy may be shared with vehicles, but they are well-marked. It’s important to follow the local traffic laws and wear appropriate safety gear, such as helmets and reflective clothing, especially on busier roads.

While Spanish is widely spoken, Catalan is also an official language in Catalonia, with 65% of the population speaking it, especially in areas like the Costa Brava.

We begin in the country’s capital, Montevideo, before working our way east to cycle the peaceful countryside, stroll white-sand beaches and sip wine with local producers. Venture through the undulating green of the “Uruguayan Tuscany,” with its vineyards blanketing verdant hills, to Punta del Este, a shining, glass beacon of South American summer. Our journey wraps up in Jose Ignacio, a refined hamlet on the Atlantic coast, whose serene and sandy streets make this former fishing village the stuff dreams are made of.

From the rolling countryside in Vidago, Montalegre and Douro, to the elegant spaces of Chaves, art galleries and Michelin-starred chefs, feel the juxtaposition each day as you explore Portugal's glorious interior. Throughout the day take in the contrasts of the region, the areas Catholic roots and traditional Pagan history, starting in the rural countryside and ending your day in urban city of Chaves. 

Start today in Montalegre, at the only national park in Portugal. Cycle by villages and feel connected to the traditional Portuguese way of life before arriving at a sophisticated contemporary art gallery and home to a geometric abstractionist painter.

You have the classic Douro valley day ahead of you filled with the terraced highlands of the Douro river and of course Port tastings. Hike the charming alleys and enjoy a refreshing picnic by a group of local women on a private riverboat that will take you upstream the river. 

Ramble through the hillsides crammed with vines in the village of Pomarelhe and follow the trails to a secluded family-run Port producer for a picnic in their beautiful garden. Relax at your leisure back at the sumptuous hotel this afternoon.

Today's ride kicks it up a notch with a more challenging uphill ride with rewarding and stunning vistas. Bike past vineyards hugging the rivers edge and pause for lunch with a Michelin starred chef.

Begin pedalling through the Kagoshima “Hinterland,” along quiet farming roads with sweeping views of the Kirishima Mountains. Pedal by rolling green tea fields, eventually arriving at a lunch of local specialties. Continue to Kagoshima Shrine, where we’ll be welcomed with a special Shinto ceremony, then we’re off to the hotel for our first welcome dinner.

Hop on our bikes and ride past expansive rice fields, stopping for traditional Japanese comfort cuisine for lunch. Then, we’ll make our way to the awe-inspiring Ryumon waterfall, and eventually, the Ryumonjiyaki Pottery Studio to learn about the incredible craft. Tonight, we’ll indulge in a fabulous “Shabu-Shabu” dinner. 

Ride along stunning coastlines and smooth trails, spotting the monumental Sakurajima volcano in the distance. Pause in “Wakamikobana,” where our local friend will host us for coffee and sweets in a traditional house—here, we’ll feel transported through time. Then, we’re off to the region famous for kurozu to learn about the brewing process and a tasting. Tonight, we’ll enjoy a delightful dinner at the hotel.

Follow the “Miyazaki Aya cycling route,” pedalling along a tranquil road that traces the local riverside, eventually crossing the “Aya Teruha Suspension Bridge.” We’ll then be immersed in the world of Japanese indigo dye, learning about the age-old tradition from local artisans. Then, we’ll be driven north to our next hotel where we’ll enjoy a wonderful dinner.

Head out to explore the picturesque landscapes of the legendary town of Takachiho—renowned for its spiritual aura and sacred ambiance. We’ll pause for lunch using fresh, local ingredients, then continue pedalling to “Amano Yasukawara,” a natural cave with a small shrine. Tonight, we’ll dine at a local farmhouse for dinner.

Our ride begins in the enchanting Aso Geopark, pedalling along the Milk Road that traces the caldera grasslands and cattle pastures, eventually reaching Manganji Hot Spring—a hidden gem nestled beside a river. We’ll dine at one of our favourite restaurants for lunch before we’re whisked away to our next hotel.

Discover the tranquility of Yufuin with a scenic ride to Mount Yufu, followed by a visit to Artegio’s blend of art and culture. Spend the afternoon unwinding at the hotel before enjoying a final, delicious dinner in its serene setting.

After one final breakfast, it’s time to say sayonara.

We’ll indulge in a variety of incredible cuisine on this trip. However, it’s very difficult to accommodate gluten-free or vegan diets. For Japan specifically, a dietary form is required at the time of booking.

Kyushu is still an untouched island, and very few locals in the travel industry speak fluent English. We’ll do our best to translate, but please be patient with the hotel staff.

Kyushu offers diverse terrain which can include some steep hills. We recommend choosing an e-bike if you don't ride hills regularly.

It’s self-guided, but Mother Nature handles most of the guiding anyway.

After landing in Calgary, you’ll be driven to Canmore. Explore downtown and its old mining influences on your own and enjoy a bite to eat along the river.&nbsp;

Discover the Grotto Canyon with an Indigenous guide, where you’ll hike through the towering canyon walls, keeping an eye out for pictographs and messages from the past. After lunch in town, you’ll hop on your raft and float down the incredible Bow River.

Take your pick of hiking or biking today on Goat Creek trail that will take you straight to the next hotel. Unwind tonight at the Fairmont Banff, a stunning hotel nestled in the heart of Banff National Park.

The biking options are endless today, from extreme black diamond mountain bike trails to beautiful winding riverside trails and everything in between! Take to the water this afternoon in a canoe onto Vermillion Lakes or explore Banff’s boutiques and breweries.

Explore a network of hiking trails high in the mountains, scale the side of rock faces, venture across a suspension bridge and climb up ladders on the Via Ferrata. Options abound, you can also pedal in the valley between the scenic stretch from Banff to Lake Louise.

Visit the gems of the Rockies, Moraine and Emerald Lake. Take in the stunning blue of the glacier-fed waters before touring other local natural attractions. Pause for lunch in the historic town of Field at one of our favourite restaurants, then embark on a walking tour of the quaint, little town. Tonight, cheers to your magical trip in the Rockies.

After an easy morning, we will drive you back to Calgary International airport for your onward travels. Fond farewells!

It’s hard to believe that so much beauty, diversity and wine can be found so close to Cape Town. Not to mention the spectacular lodges and biking and hiking routes. This journey is not dissimilar to many of our European jaunts, as we pop easily from one elegant hotel to the next - enjoying vineyard tastings, art gallery visits and animal sightings along the way. Pedalling past dramatic vistas, we move from the Cape Peninsula to the winelands then finish with a few days of witnessing the&nbsp;“Serengeti of the Sea" on marine safari.

Exploring the Cape and beyond

Upon arrival, you'll be picked up from the airport and driven to Cape Grace Hotel. This evening, join your B&R Guides for welcome cocktails to kick off an incredible adventure in Africa.

Challenge yourself with a hike up Table Mountain, the Seventh Natural Wonder of the World. Descend the mountain by cable car and explore the city, including a stroll through one of South Africa’s most photographed neighbourhoods.

Meet with a local artist and bee expert in Simon's Town, who will bring South Africa’s diversity to life. Search for penguins on a beach known only to locals, exploring shipwrecks and the Cape Peninsula’s unique wildlife. 

Take your first bike ride in the Winelands, passing charming towns and award-winning vineyards. Stop at a local winery for lunch and a tasting before cycling downtown to Leeu Estates to settle in for the night.

Pedal through vast farmlands with panoramic views of the Hottentots Holland mountain range before lunch at an estate winery. This evening, venture into town for an art gallery tour.

Enjoy an easygoing ride through the Hemel en Aarde Valle, a beautiful and lesser-known wine region. Stop in Hermanus for our chance to spot whales before regrouping for cocktails on our nature reserve’s terrace.

Witness the Marine Big 5–whales, sharks, dolphins, seals and penguins–an eco-friendly marine adventure led by experienced biologists. Enjoy a guided hike through the mountainous vegetation of the fynbos (fine bush) before returning to the lodge for a spa treatment.

Fat Bike through dramatic dunes and the white sands of Walker Bay coast this morning, keeping an eye out for whales, dolphins and great white sharks. The final afternoon is yours to enjoy however you’d like before we raise our glasses to our adventure.

After breakfast, you will be driven to Cape Town International Airport for onward travel.

While we’ve been travelling to Tuscany for decades, this is the first release in our challenging trip series. We’ve paired famous race trails with the&nbsp;crème de la crème&nbsp;of gravel bikes. The payoff is not just the challenge of riding along gravel with heart-pounding ascents and thrilling descents, but also the unbelievable places it takes you.

With its astonishing wealth of natural attractions and a unique blend of histories and cultures, Northern Greece is arguably the country’s most fascinating region, yet one that remains relatively undiscovered. Its major centre, Thessaloniki, offers exceptional gastronomic opportunities, nightlife and shopping, while the smaller towns and cities deliver a blend of traditional architecture, historical sites and welcoming local characters. Indeed, getting off the beaten track in Greece’s Balkan north brings many unexpected rewards for the curious traveller.

In Northern Greece, ancient myths meet mountain magic in a region worthy of the Gods. Ride past jaw-dropping gorges, olive groves, and Olympus itself, then tuck into home-cooked feasts with locals who treat you like family. With canyon views, rustic wines, and monasteries clinging to cliffs, this is Greece with grit, soul and stories etched in stone.

Hop on your bikes and cruise to UNESCO-listed Vergina, one of the country's most glorious historical destinations. On arrival, explore the Royal Tombs, the ruins of an extensive palatial complex and beautiful pebble-mosaic floors.

Pedal through the Greek countryside with views of Mount Olympus always leading the way. This evening, rendezvous to the village of Livadi for a cooking demonstration, followed by a hearty dinner of our own creations and lots of laughs with the locals in a traditional taverna.

Spin through the foothills of the Olympus Mountains to the village of Velandia, where lunch al fresco awaits in the town square. Then head to Metéora to marvel at its mysterious monasteries, towering cliffs and monoliths. 

Pedal through Metsovo this morning, with views of mountains accompanying us along the way. Visit Katogi Averoff Winery for dinner and a tasting this evening. 

Take a ride to Zagori, pausing in one of Greece's best truffle forests for a truffle hunt and a spectacular picnic lunch. After lunch, head to the mountains and canyons of upper Zagori for some free time to explore the surroundings and unwind at the hotel.

Cycle to a shimmering river in Vikos village, where we'll raft through the gorge on a breathtakingly beautiful river trip. Pause for lunch at a nearby restaurant featuring fresh wild trout from the river. Dinner this evening will be served on the terrace of our hotel for our final celebration.
