No two trips are ever the same, but this will give you a taste of what your journey will be like.

Day 1

We begin today’s ride in Ircio, a sleepy hamlet at the doorstep of la Rioja, for our first taste of the region’s wine country. Pedal through the vineyards before stopping for lunch and a tasting at a local wine bar whose producer is known for award-winning vintages.

48 km (30 mi.) ride from Ircio via Rivas de Tereso to Marques de Riscal | Total elevation: 556 m (1,824 ft)

Day 2

We weave past villages and wineries on a loop ride through the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria. Lounge over a local lunch followed by a Basque Txalaparta music performance. In the evening, we'll make our way to the hilltop village of Laguardia for a tour.

Day 3

Today we change Sierras as we venture south from the Basque Country then deep into Rioja. We stop for lunch at Palacio Casafuerte in Zarratón, a medieval village known for its chapels.

52 km (32 mi.) ride from Marques de Riscal to Santo Domingo de la Calzada | Total elevation: 653 m (2,142 ft)

Day 4

Riding through Roa del Duero, we cross the Duero River and venture the stretch between Valladolid and Peñafiel (where the greatest wines of the appellation are produced) before a paella lunch. A private tour and tasting at a vineyard await this evening.

Day 5

Ride past vineyards and farmers' fields to arrive at Pico Melero, a cheese factory that's been around since 1839, for a memorable lunch and cheese tasting. Indulge in a Michelin-star affair in the magnificent 12th c. church this evening. ¡Salud!
