This is Peru at its most extraordinary. An intimate passage through ancient Inca citadels, sacred Andean valleys and one of the world's most celebrated culinary scenes. From the bohemian streets of Lima and a private dinner at Kjolle to a trek along the legendary Inca Trail, a sunrise at Machu Picchu and the golden colonial streets of Cusco, every day brings a deeper connection to the living culture, ancient spirituality and breathtaking landscapes that make Peru unlike anywhere else on Earth. A limited edition journey designed to be experienced on its own or combined with Part Two as the ultimate Peruvian grand journey.
Extend your adventure with Peru: Where the Andes Meet the Amazon.

Few trips cover this much ground—geographically or culturally. From the Pacific coast and the sacred valleys of the Andes to the ancient capital of Cusco, this is a rare opportunity to experience the true breadth of Peru in a seamlessly crafted adventure.

Peru rewards those who know where to look—and who to know. Years of deep relationships in this country have opened doors that can't simply be knocked on; celebrated chefs, master weavers, biodiversity conservationists, and community elders who share their world with rare generosity and authenticity.

Peru's culinary identity is as diverse as its landscapes. From a private dinner at Kjolle with Latin America's Best Female Chef to a Pachamanca feast on ancient Inca terraces and an oca wine tasting in the highlands, this journey reveals Peru one extraordinary flavour at a time.

Day 2
Lima is one of the world's great food cities—and today you'll experience it from the inside out. A private chef-led market visit, intimate hands-on cooking experience, and a stroll through Barranco's bohemian streets build toward the evening's highlight: dinner at Kjolle, the celebrated restaurant of Pía León, named one of Latin America's Best Female Chefs.

Private cooking experience
Day 3
Fly to Cusco and descend into the legendary Sacred Valley of the Incas, a landscape of soaring mountains, ancient terraces, and living Andean tradition. A gourmet picnic welcome and a private exploration of the Pisac archaeological complex lead to a deeply moving Despacho ceremony beneath open Andean skies.
Activity:
Archaeological park of Pisac
Day 4
The highlands of the Sacred Valley reveal some of the Inca world's most fascinating secrets today—from the otherworldly salt ponds of Maras to the extraordinary circular terraces of Moray, believed to be an ancient agricultural laboratory. A private lunch in the mountains is followed by a rare cultural encounter with native potato conservationist Manuel Choqque.
Activity:
Hike Moray to Maras
Day 5
Hike to the rarely visited Wari ruins of Pumamarca, wander the cobblestone streets of Ollantaytambo—the last living Inca town—and gather around a traditional Pachamanca earth-oven feast on an organic farm set on ancient Inca terraces. The evening closes with a refined dinner at Wayra Ranch, accompanied by the breathtaking spectacle of a Peruvian Paso horse show.
Activity:
Hike to Pumamarca ruins
Day 6
Board the Vistadome through the dramatic Vilcanota Canyon before setting foot on the legendary Inca Trail for a private guided trek past the ceremonial ruins of Chachabamba and the magnificent terraces of Wiñay Wayna. Arriving at Inti Punku—the Sun Gate—for your first panoramic view of Machu Picchu is nothing short of breathtaking.
Activity:
Hike Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
Day 7
Summit Machu Picchu Mountain for sweeping 360° views over one of the world's most iconic ancient sites, before a final cocktail farewell to the site and an evening aboard the legendary Belmond Hiram Bingham—fine dining, live music, and the spectacular Andean landscape rolling past the windows all the way back to Cusco.
Activity:
Summit Machu Picchu
Day 8
The ancient capital of the Inca Empire deserves a full day of exploration. From the monumental fortress of Sacsayhuamán high above the city to the bohemian laneways of San Blas, the sacred Koricancha Temple, and a private textile experience with a master Andean weaver, Cusco gives generously to those who take the time to know it.
Activity:
Cusco exploration
Andean weaving demonstration
Day 9
The ancient capital bids you farewell as the next chapter begins—onward to the dramatic landscapes of Arequipa and the Colca Valley to continue your Peruvian Grand Journey, or homeward with memories that will last a lifetime.

Good to know

The Full Grand Journey
Both parts of this itinerary have been designed to work seamlessly together as the ultimate Peruvian grand journey — from the culinary capitals and ancient wonders of the Andes to the extraordinary biodiversity of the Amazon. For those doing both, all domestic flights within Peru are included, your journey begins and ends in Lima, and every logistical detail is taken care of so you can focus entirely on the experience.

The Inca Trail
The Inca Trail is a bucket-list experience unlike any other — and it's important to know that it's a serious hike. There are no easy-out options, no road access, and no helicopter support along the route. Rescues are possible but reserved for genuine emergencies, so a good level of fitness is essential.

Altitude
The highest sleeping altitude on this trip is Cusco at 11,000ft / 3,350m. The itinerary has been carefully planned to help you acclimatize gradually before spending nights at elevation, but it is important to be aware that we do spend time at high altitude.

Entrance Passes
The Inca Trail and Machu Picchu Mountain both require government-issued entrance passes. Daily visitor numbers are strictly limited and passes cannot be guaranteed — we'll request these at the time of booking and will need a scanned copy of your passport to do so.

An Expedition by Nature
This is a true grand journey—moving through Peru by plane, train, and private vehicle to reach places that simply can't be experienced any other way. Come prepared for an adventure
