Carbon Neutral Trip
Switzerland serves up the good life—Alpine views, vineyard spins, and cheese aged with near-religious devotion. Glide effortlessly by e-bike past glaciers, lakes, and those famously contented cows. Lunch in a mountain hut, cross a sky-high suspension bridge, and wrap up in chic Bern. With alpenhorns, locals, and fondue-fuelled charm, this ride is peak Switzerland (pun very much intended).

Preview the itinerary
No two trips are ever the same, but this will give you a taste of what your journey will be like.
Day 1
A smooth warm-up ride leads us to the magnificent UNESCO Lavaux vineyards that cascade to the lake below. With wine on our minds, the timing is perfect for a special private winery visit. Tonight, we'll dine in the Michelin-decorated hotel restaurant.
Activity:
45 km (28 mi.) ride from Savigny to Vevey via Lavaux | Elevation gain: 573 m (1,880 ft.)
Day 2
Ride through Montreux, joining the Rhone River bike path beside the river’s banks, eventually climbing through vineyards to Aigle. After lunch, we’re off to the castle of Chillon for a guided visit. Glide back across the lake on the steamboat or pedal back to Vevey. Tonight, we’ll dine at our favourite local restaurant.
Activity:
52 km (32 mi.) ride from Vevey to Aigle and the Château de Chillon | Elevation gain: 350 m (1,148 ft.)
Optional ride | 62 km (48.3 mi.) | Elevation gain: 350 m (1,148 ft.)
Day 3
Set off from Gruyères (like the cheese), pedalling along the winding valley carved by the Saane River. Climb to a private house for a tasty lunch while listening to schwytzoergeli, then we’ll continue riding from village to village, passing wood chalets and local craft shops. Tonight, we’ll be joined by a local friend who will share insight into Gstaad’s history and unique local culture.
Activity:
50 km (31 mi.) ride from Gruyères to Gstaad | Elevation gain: 1,200 m (3,937 ft.)
Day 4
Wind through valleys near Gstaad and past ancient wooden buildings before climbing the famous Alpine pass Col du Pillon. Wander through town for a delicious lunch on your own, then we'll visit a local cheese cellar for an aperitif and to hear the secrets of the trade. Tonight, explore Gstaad’s many dining options for a fabulous meal.
Activity:
37 km (23 mi.) round-trip ride from Gstaad to the Col du Pillon | Elevation gain: 642 m (2,106 ft.)
Optional ride | 25 km (15 mi.) | Elevation gain: 440 m (1,444 ft.)
Day 5
Cycle the rolling hills of the farm-dotted Bernese countryside—a charming patchwork of pastures, tiny villages and forests. Enjoy a local lunch beside the Aare River, then continue pedalling into Bern. Tonight, we’ll visit Bern’s iconic medieval clock tower, then stroll to a nearby restaurant on the river for a delightful final meal together.
Activity:
48 km (30 mi.) ride through the Bernese countryside | Elevation gain: 451 m (1,479 ft.)
Day 6
After breakfast, we’ll arrange a taxi at your leisure to the Bern train station, well-connected to both Geneva and Zürich airports. It's time to say au revoir et bon voyage!

Good to know

Air conditioning
Swiss law prevents hotels situated at high altitudes from having air conditioning. Your rooms have cooling systems, and you can open the windows at night to take advantage of the cool air.

Food
We'll indulge in a variety of incredible cuisines on this trip. However, it's difficult to accommodate vegan diets in Switzerland.

Terrain
Switzerland offers diverse terrain which can include some steep hills. We recommend familiarity with biking in these conditions.
Why choose a Small Group trip?

An Effortless Journey
Our expert Experience Designers are perfectionists, using first-hand knowledge of routes, restaurants and hotels to create an unforgettable experience. This means all the planning is taken care of for you. All you need to do is enjoy.

Active Exploration
From emerging destinations to iconic sights, B&R trips show you the world in a new way on our expertly developed cycling, walking and hiking routes. Travelling through historic villages and romantic vineyards and up to striking viewpoints, our routes offer a variety of challenges for every activity level.

Friends for Life
Your fellow travellers are as passionate and curious about the world as you are, which means the conversations and laughs will be as free flowing as your drink of choice. Don't be surprised if your group starts planning a reunion before the trip is done.

Room for Surprises
We love a plan, but we adore a spontaneous moment even more. Whether it’s an impromptu al fresco meal or a moon-lit musical performance, our advice is to expect the unexpected.
