Carbon Neutral Trip

Between the sun, the shore and the food, Puglia has a way of making everything more sumptuous. Mozarella’s more delicious when sampled at a cheese-making demo led by our friends Domenica and Giuseppe. Cycling’s more serene along the Adriatic. A post-ride lunch is even more delicious when enjoyed in our friend’s masseria. And the sound of live music is more enchanting when paired with an exclusive dinner in a fortified castle. After just a few days here, you’ll quickly see why Puglia has our heart.

Incredible Rides
Cycle along the shimmering Adriatic and through the historic Alberobello, with more than 1,000 UNESCO-listed Trulli.

Vibrant Culture
Puglia’s art, history and culture have been influenced by many civilizations—from the ancient Greeks, Romans, Byzantines and Normans.

Local Connections
Learn how the local community is restoring their olive trees and olive oil production through our Slow Fund project with OlivaMi

No two trips are ever the same, but this will give you a taste of what your journey will be like.

Day 1

We’re off on our first ride through the ancient port town of Otranto, where we’ll explore the historic center and visit the famed Cathedral. After a seaside lunch, pedal inland via quiet roads, stopping to visit the inspiring Olivami Slow Fund project. This evening, take time to relax at the hotel before we gather for a celebratory dinner in a magical setting.

Day 2

Ride through the heart of Salento past ancient menhirs, Byzantine crypts, and fortified villages on one of the most beautiful routes in Italy. Pause for a wine tasting and picnic-style lunch at a historic 18th c. winery before heading back to the hotel. This evening, unwind with a spa treatment then learn about aloe vera before a farm-to-table dinner under the stars.

Activity:

55 km (34 mi.) gently rolling ride along the beautiful Salento coast south of Otranto | Elevation gain: 425 m (1,395 ft.)

Enjoy a hearty Slow Food lunch at a family-run masseria before we're whisked to Lecce, where you’ll have time to explore the Baroque beauty of the city and dine independently.

Activity:

41 km (26 mi.) easygoing ride through small, rural towns to lunch | Elevation gain: 180 m (590 ft.)

Day 4

We’re off to Ostuni, one of the most iconic villages in Puglia today, where we’ll visit a historic masseria for a private visit and courtyard picnic lunch. Then, we’ll hop on our bikes and ride into Ostuni, the stunning “White City” perched across three hills. Explore its winding alleys and artisan shops, then cycle through ancient olive groves in a UNESCO-recognized landscape. Return to the hotel for a fabulous dinner.

Activity:

42 km (26 mi.) ride down from hilltop Ostuni into ancient olive groves and along the coast | Elevation gain: 226 m (741 ft.)
