Savour the region’s best cuisine in style, from private lunch in our own château to dining in a 2-star Michelin restaurant, and indulging in the freshest oysters.

UNESCO Heritage Sites

Explore Mont Saint-Michel, a magical UNESCO-protected island monastery with an insider-access visit.

Incredible Rides

Cycle gorgeous rolling routes between flowery villages and Romanesque gems, including the adorable oyster capital, Cancale.

No two trips are ever the same, but this will give you a taste of what your journey will be like.

Day 1

Our first ride begins from the gate of a gorgeous Renaissance castle. Pedal through rolling valleys and pass medieval churches until we reach Juno Beach. Visit the on-site museum, then we’re off to our friend’s manor home for a picnic lunch. Later, we'll enjoy cocktails with a D-Day expert before we sit down for our first dinner at one of Bayeux’s traditional bistronomic restaurants.

Activity:

38 km (24 mi.) ride from Fontaine Henri to Bayeux via Juno Beach | Elevation gain: 245 m (804 ft.)

Optional ride | 28 km (17 mi.) | Elevation gain: 246 m (800 ft.)

Day 2

Ride to Pointe du Hoc to gain a firsthand perspective on the events of the morning of D-Day. Further along the coast, we’ll enjoy the best seafood in town for lunch then end our tour at the American Cemetery. This evening, we’ll sit down at one of our favourite gastronomic restaurants.

Activity:

48 km (30 mi.) ride from Bayeux, stopping at Omaha beach | Elevation gain: 300 m (984 ft)

Optional ride | 72 km (45 mi) | Elevation gain: 452 m (1,483 ft)

Day 3

Begin pedalling to the bunkers at Longues-sur-Mer, the only guns still in place, then roll on to the Arromanches Museum. Join our baronial host in his château for a country lunch. After a long or short gorgeous ride back, the rest of the evening is yours to explore Bayeux on your own.

Activity:

41 km (25 mi.) ride from Bayeux to Arromanches and Brouay | Elevation gain: 301 m (988 ft.)

Day 4

Starting near the bay in Avranches, our ride follows quiet paths and roads to the fairytale Mont Saint-Michel. Pause for a delicious farm-fresh lunch before continuing to Mont, where we’ll be joined by a local expert for a behind-the-scenes visit of this fascinating piece of medieval history. Wander through Dinard’s lively dining scene tonight.

Activity:

32 km (20 mi.) ride along the bay and hinterland of Mont Saint-Michel | Elevation gain: 70 m (230 ft.)

Good to know

Terrain
Terrain

Reaching the top of Mont Saint-Michel requires climbing many steps. While there are plenty of safe spaces to pause and rest along the way, we recommend familiarity with walking in these conditions.

Packing
Packing

Normandy and Brittany can have variable weather throughout the day. We recommend packing layers and a Gore-Tex raincoat to stay comfortable and dry.

Why choose a Small Group trip?

An Effortless Journey

Our expert Experience Designers are perfectionists, using first-hand knowledge of routes, restaurants and hotels to create an unforgettable experience. This means all the planning is taken care of for you. All you need to do is enjoy.

Active Exploration

From emerging destinations to iconic sights, B&R trips show you the world in a new way on our expertly developed cycling, walking and hiking routes. Travelling through historic villages and romantic vineyards and up to striking viewpoints, our routes offer a variety of challenges for every activity level.

Friends for Life

Your fellow travellers are as passionate and curious about the world as you are, which means the conversations and laughs will be as free flowing as your drink of choice. Don't be surprised if your group starts planning a reunion before the trip is done.

Room for Surprises

We love a plan, but we adore a spontaneous moment even more. Whether it’s an impromptu al fresco meal or a moon-lit musical performance, our advice is to expect the unexpected.
