Carbon Neutral Trip
Morocco serves up a varied array of mountains, deserts, and coastlines so readily, you'll swear it’s showing off. Pedal from the snow-dusted High Atlas to surfer-chill Sidi Kaouki, through crimson valleys, sacred villages, and candlelit desert dinners. Along the way, meet locals who’ll happily share their stories, their mint tea, and the kind of magic that can’t be Googled.

Preview the itinerary
No two trips are ever the same, but this will give you a taste of what your journey will be like.
Day 1
Our first ride begins at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains and the edge of the Plain of Marrakech. From the desert plains, we’ll pedal along olive trees and almond groves, red-rich soil and snowy mountain peaks. We'll reach the Jardin Bio Aromatique d'Ourika to enjoy a typical Moroccan lunch in an exceptional natural setting.
Activity:
34 km (21 mi.) of riding in the Marrakech plain with a few small climbs along the way
Day 2
Set out on a walk to the Amazigh village of Tagadirt. Along the way, glimpse at daily mountain life as we walk through the Ourika Valley. Stop for lunch prepared by our local friends, then we’ll head back to the hotel for a relaxing afternoon. During this evening’s cocktails, we’ll be joined by a young, socially active mother from Marrakech to learn more about the local culture.
Activity:
10-12 km (6 -7 mi.) of somewhat challenging hiking south along the Ourika River, mule ride available for tired hikers
Day 3
We’re off to the sacred town of Moulay Brahim today, where we’ll explore the spectacular “Plateau du Kik” en route to the Agafay desert. Pedal downhill toward our French-style lakeside lunch, before we continue to our next hotel. Tonight, we’ll enjoy a candlelit dinner under the stars.
Activity:
43 km (28 mi.) ride over rolling terrain
Optional ride | 28 km (18 mi.)
Day 4
Bid adieu to the desert and head for the coast- we'll bike the last leg of the journey past sleepy villages and along quiet roads. Once in the surfer’s village of Moulay Bouzerktoum, we’ll pause for lunch at a local cafe. Continue to our next hotel, a restored palace just steps from the Atlantic before heading out for dinner on your own.
Activity:
25 km (16 mi.) of bike riding past Hadra
Day 5
Bike south towards Sidi Kauki for stunning coastal views, pausing for a delicious lunch in a seaside bistro. Later, we’ll be joined by our longtime friend as we venture to explore Essaouira's 18th c. seafront ramparts. Dinner tonight is at a fabulous local restaurant serving fresh fish and seafood.
Activity:
32 km (20 mi.) bike ride amongst argan trees and timeless agricultural landscapes, an easy-going ride with rolling terrain and gentle downhills
Day 6
After a stunning morning bike ride, we’re off to the magical city of Marrakech. This evening, we’ll wander to the old town and visit Djemma el Fna Square, a bustling centre since the 11th c.
Activity:
30 km (19 mi.) of riding on rolling terrain with a magnificent backdrop
Day 7
As we tour Marrakech today, we’ll be led by our friend and premier guide, Mohammed. He’ll take us to the Bahia Palace, the amazing guard of Jacques Majorelle and the Yves Saint-Laurent museum. This afternoon, enjoy the hotel’s stunning rooftop or relax by the pool before we gather for a special farewell dinner overlooking the Imperial City.
Activity:
A private guided tour of Marrakech with one of the city's premier guides
Day 8
After one final breakfast, we'll say our goodbyes. Your guides will assist you in organzing taxis for onward travel.
