Daily walks range between 3 to 11 km (1.85 to 6.85 mi.), on cobbled city streets, grassy terraced hillsides and the winding footpaths of the Inca Trail. We travel through the Sacred Valley at altitudes between 2,100 and 3,700 m (6900 to 12000 ft). Apart from the challenging walk up to Machu Picchu, the trip is moderate. You may find, however, that the altitude requires more effort than at lower elevations. Expect some uneven stairs on our hikes in the ruins as well as some sheer drop offs in places.

Butterfield & Robinson will provide you with a pick-up service from the airport to your hotel upon arrival in Cusco, provided that you send us your flight arrival information well ahead of your scheduled trip date. Following an ancient route, we will pedal the rolling hills of Prosecco from Marostica to Conegliano and onto timeless Venice, where the trip culminates in the famously renowned city of canals. En route, we’ll make a foray into Valdobbiadene and perfectly preserved medieval Bassano del Grappa, the region home to radicchio, asparagus, risotto and tiramisu. In this region, the culinary adventures are as extraordinary as the scenery!

Nowhere does the slowing down feel more apropos than Piemonte, the birthplace of Slow Food, where epicurean delights await around every corner and verdant vineyards abound. We pair our meals with many of the best vintages (on us, natch), then kick back at the intimate and gorgeous La Villa.

There's much to see in Ireland's west—and more to taste than you might think: from frothy Guinness and fresh mussels to tender lamb and wild-caught salmon.

We will drop you off back in Galway, where trains for Dublin and rental cars are available. Note that the time is subject to change, depending upon the train schedule to Dublin. Delve into Dali’s backyard: ride rolling volcanic hills dwarfed by the Pyrenees, explore time-stamped villages and feast on molecular cuisine.

The riding is varied with the majority of terrain being rolling hills and flat stretches on quiet country roads. After breakfast, your B&R guides will say goodbye to you. They will be happy of course to assist with your further travel plans and help organize transfers to Amsterdam, Bruges, Gent, Antwerp or Brussels.

We bike along truly flat bike paths and quiet country roads. Although the routes are flat, we may encounter headwinds on some days. Average daily distance is 45 km (28 miles).

We'll meet in the lobby of Hotel Pulitzer and take a short drive directly into the heart of the bulb fields, where we’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how the flowers are grown before meeting our bikes. It’s a short easy ride to the main floral attraction: Keukenhof Gardens, where seven million flowers are on display! Next-Level Immersion

Start in Bohemian Prague, then ride past vineyards and hilltop monasteries in the splendid Wachau Valley en route to regal Vienna and the Hotel Sacher.

Our trip will conclude at the Hotel Sacher Wien. From there, taxis to the airport can easily be arranged.

The riding in the Czech Republic and Austria offers much variety in landscape. Heading southeast of Prague and through the forested area around Chateau Heralec, we encounter some moderately hilly terrain. The bike paths along the Danube are virtually flat and hassle-free. Long options are also available.

Bustling souks, breathtaking Berber camps, crumbling Kasbahs and camel rides over the silky Sahara: no, this isn't a mirage—it's a dream come true.

The trip will end after breakfast in Marrakech. Your guides can help arrange transportation to the airport, if needed. We recommend staying another day in Marrakech after the trip has finished.

Daily biking distances usually vary from 20 to 50 km (12 to 30 mi.), with options on some days as far as 62 km (40 mi.). The terrain is generally flat, with a few hills along the way when we’re closer to the High Atlas Mountains. The difficulty of the ride often depends on which way the wind is blowing. The walking routes are mostly flat, except for our day in the Atlas Mountains.

Nature's Way

Experience the Dolomites' remarkable people, diverse and amazing hikes, fabulous hotels and all the spa-time one deserves after a day of invigorating walking in the mountains.

We'll depart at 9:00am for Bolzano train station and also the town centre for anyone staying in Bolzano. The drive takes approximately 1.5-hours and from the train station there are outbound options for travel to Verona, Venice and Milan.

This hiking trip covers a variety of terrain that at times is challenging. Paths are hard-packed dirt trails and daily distances average 5 to 13 km, with some options for less (or more) challenging hikes. Some days will involve short vehicle transfers and while many days include chairlifts and gondolas to assist with ascents and descents, be prepared for plenty of ups and downs. Hiking boots (light to medium weight) with sturdy ankle support and strong grips are highly recommended. Please note that van support is very limited on this trip due to the lack of access vehicles have to the trails.

This morning we will take a 1 hour transfer to Brasov, and then continue to Bucharest together, arriving back to the city centre early afternoon. You can choose to fly out of Brasov or Bucharest, please be sure to let us know your flight details.

The riding in Romania is generally moderate, with sections along valley floors linked by the occasional climb. Limited long options are also available.

If you complete the full option daily rather than taking advantage of van shuttles, the trip would be rated avid: e-bikes are highly recommended for anyone not in love with challenging hill climbs.

In the Valley of Kings, one castle just won't do—which is why we stay at two on this epic ride through history. Oh, and the food? Fit for a king.

Your trip will end at the main train station in St. Pierre des Corps in time for the direct 10:39am train to Paris Montparnasse. Most flights from Paris to North America depart in the late morning or early afternoon; therefore it will be difficult (though not impossible) to fly home that day. We recommend spending at least one night in Paris unless you are disposed to catch an earlier train on your own. Those who need to go to CDG airport can take the 10:54am train arriving at CDG airport at 1:04pm. Those who need to get to the airport earlier than 1pm will have to arrange a separate transfer at their own expense.

Most of the riding on this trip is level with gentle grades, but be aware that the Loire Valley is not flat, there are several longer climbs. The daily distances average 45 km (28 mi.). There are three layover days, which allow for some shorter routes and, for avid cyclists, longer options.

Our average bike ride is 53 km, with the option one day to do a 102 km Century Ride. Our ride in the Entre Deux Mers lets you warm up your legs, as the topography is flat or very gently rolling. The Dordogne’s terrain means that each day involves a few challenging hills—but the climbs and descents are either short or gradual, ranging between 163m and 889m. Most roads are very quiet, with a few busier sections in towns.

The trip alternates relatively flat routes with some hilly rides. Distances average 45 km (28 mi.) with longer options on some days, including a spectacular ride of 88 km (50 mi.) through the Gorges de la Nesque. In general, you follow small, quiet roads, though it can be busier in and around towns and at the river crossing. Routes go through vineyards, olive groves, forests, orchards, and charming towns in Les Alpilles, the Ventoux wine region, and the Lubéron.

We will depart as a group from the Vik hotel at 3pm, arriving to the Santiago International Airport at 5pm for your flight home, and then continuing on to downtown Santiago if you are extending your stay in Chile. The daily bike rides will average roughly 45 km (28 mi.) on good quality, paved roads with shorter options available for each ride.

Most of the riding on this trip is perfectly flat, although there is a very occasional short, gentle climb, particularly on the second day. Daily elevation gains are roughly 50 m (164 feet). This trip is rated Recreational. Daily biking distances usually vary from 35 to 50km (19 to 31 mi.), with options on some days as far as 66 km (40 mi.). The terrain is generally flat, with a few hills along the way in the Ostuni area and along the coast. The difficulty of the ride often depends on which way the wind is blowing.

This hiking trip covers a variety of terrain that at times is challenging. Paths are mostly hard-packed dirt trails, however there are some rocky paths with a mix of ascents and descents. Our aim is to provide you with an exceptional experience with maximum attention to your safety and comfort. Your first day’s orientation briefing will review plans for each day, provide alternative routes and assess upcoming weather patterns. As a guide will join you mid-trip, it gives you the opportunity to go over plans again and if necessary, alter the itinerary to suit your capabilities.

After breakfast this morning, we will drop you off at the Rennes train station in time for the 9:35 AM direct train to Paris' Gare Montparnasse. 

While most of the riding is relatively easy, expect to contend with the occasional challenging climb. On a couple of days, the ride is longer than the average 40 km (25 mi.), although the terrain on these days is fairly flat.

We'll rendezvous in the lobby of Le Normandy Barriere at 8:30 AM and take a short drive to visit the castle of Fontaine Henry before continuing on to the lush Norman countryside to begin our first ride. We will offer two dropoff transfers: one to Catania airport for outbound travel, the other to nearby Taormina to extend your stay in Sicily.

Our walking is somewhat hilly with a few steep sections, and a few flat ones. For the most part, we stay on the dirt paths that run through the vineyards, countryside and along the coast, but we occasionally take quiet asphalt roads. The walking on Etna is exposed with some loose gravel. The daily distances range from 7 to 13.5 km (4.3 to 8.3 mi.) with van support or shorter options for when you’re ready to relax back at the hotel.

A private driver will bring you from your hotel to the Figari airport in time for your onward journey. Figari’s tiny airport, FSC, is well-connected from Paris, Nice, and Marseille year-round, and other European cities in summer.

Upon your arrival into Calvi’s tiny airport (CLY, well-connected from Paris, Nice, and Marseille year-round, and other European cities in summer), you’ll be met by your local guide who will bring you the 10 minutes to your hotel.  
We highly recommend booking your Corsican flights on the same ticket with your flights to & from Europe whenever possible, to protect you in the event of a flight cancellation or delay.
