We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.
These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.

A Wild African Adventure
On this wild African adventure, you’ll stay in authentic safari camps along the Zambezi River and spend your days getting in touch with the local animal life. Gaze upon prides of lions, dine amidst herds of buffalo, and walk among giants—the magnificent African bull elephants, that is—in the thirsty Mana Pools region. Take to the waters at the island Musango Safari Camp, where boating safaris and sailing excursions are daily events. Then complete your stay in a secluded treehouse along the luxuriant banks of Khandar Island—the thundering Victoria Falls in the distance.

Day by Day
Arrive in Mana Pools National Park, known for its excellent wildlife visibility during the dry months, as animals gather to drink from the river and natural pools. Get acquainted with your charming tented camp and expert guides.
The activity choices are endless today: walk vast floodplains with the bull elephants in sight, dine amidst herds of buffalo, gaze upon prides of lions, or enjoy sundowners with hippos on the banks of the Zambezi, take your pick.
Today, you may choose to take a tour of the National Parks Headquarters, watch for over 400 stunning bird species in the area, or fish from the banks of the Zambezi River. Tonight, we suggest enjoying drinks around the fire pit under a starry sky.
Fly from the Mana Pools to Bumi Hills, where you'll board a boat to your new island home, Musango Safari Camp. Your days here are flexible, with activities ranging from black rhino tracking to dinosaur fossil visits.
Take advantage of Musango's 23-foot catamaran with a sailing excursion to a nearby island. This afternoon, keen anglers may choose to do some fishing or perhaps set out on a game drive.
The adventures continue with another full day of safari, fishing or animal tracking ahead. Be sure to take advantage of your guides' intimate knowledge of the area!
Hop on a short flight to your next lodge at Victoria Falls—arguably Zimbabwe's grandest attraction (certainly its loudest). Relax by the infinity pool, set out on a game drive, or spend time exploring the craft markets in the nearby town.
Take a guided tour of the Falls today (also known as "the smoke that thunders"). Watching the waters plummet dramatically into the Batoka Gorge over 100 metres below is truly an awe-inspiring experience.
Join a conservation-focused safari this morning and learn about the anti-poaching initiatives happening in Zambezi National Park. Be sure to leave some time to get acquainted with Zimbabwe's more nocturnal residents on a sunset river cruise!
Squeeze in one final safari activity before making your way back to O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg for your evening departure home. Safe onward journey!
Stand witness to the “smoke that thunders”.Request a Detailed ItineraryZimbabwe Walking

Boasting gorgeous views of the Zambezi River, the camp is made up of generously spaced, breezy tents with private en-suite facilities. Dining is al fresco, under a shady tree in the heat of the day or on the banks of the river in the moonlight. Evenings are spent with drinks and friends around the fire pit under a starry sky. Musango Safari Lodge, Matusadona National Park
Family owned and operated, Musango Safari Camp has a total of eight rooms made up of canvas and stone under a thatched roof. Bright rooms with gauze fronts enjoy stunning lake views and look out onto the Matusadona Hills. Each has en-suite facilities and a shady outside area sloping down to the beach. Our favourite part? The African décor and artefacts give the camp a totally authentic feel. View hotel website »
Victoria Falls Island Lodge, Victoria Falls
Accessible only by boat along the luxuriant banks of Kandahar Island, the secluded treehouse suites at Victoria Falls Island Lodge are absolutely incredible. Set on raised decks, the suites are constructed predominantly of wood and glass. I don’t know how B&R does it – the quality of their trips is so consistently high! Just when we think they couldn’t do anything as good as our last trip, they do! Another fantastic experience with B&R.— Carolyn Zaslaw
