We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.
These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.

Ancient history, safaris, & World Wonders
Discover the rich culture, deep history, and spectacular wildlife of Zimbabwe. We begin our journey exploring the Matobo Hills, where millions of years of erosion has hewn shapes from granite rock, creating gravity-defying formations that serve as a resting place of benevolent spirits. Settle into a different tempo as we move north to Hwange for thrilling game drives on the lookout for the wide variety of mammals and birds that inhabit the diverse landscape. Finally settling into our final moments at a tranquil oasis on the banks of the impressive Zambezi River, we’ll take in one of nature’s Seven Wonders of our World, Victoria Falls, before being serenaded by pods of hippos at night.

Visit with resident archaeologist and historian, Paul Hubbard, who will bring the area’s rich history to life through his storytelling. Discover the San rock art sites found in shallow caves, as well as Cecil John Rhodes’ final resting place, the “View of the World”.
Today’s activity is of your choosing: perhaps embark on a leisurely bike ride through the villages and homes nestled amidst the Matopos, or head out on a safari to track down the black and white rhinos native to the land.
Take a drive from Camp Amalinda to Hwange National Park, stopping at points of interest en route. Meet with our safari guides at Hwange Main Camp to game-drive through the park to our charming lodge.
Begin to adjust to the gentle pace of safari life as you rise at the crisp African dawn for a game drive, followed by an afternoon spent as you wish: perhaps opting for an activity such as bird-watching, or simply relaxing and taking a nap. You’ve earned it!
Choose from a variety of options today available through the camp: maybe tracking down the lions and zebra that call Hwange home, either by vehicle or, for those with an adventurous streak, by foot on a walking safari.
After a last game drive at Hwange, we make our way to the thunderous Victoria Falls for a truly awe-inspiring experience. A guided tour will take us around the falls and rainforest, and through the craft markets in town.
Take your pick of activity for your final day at Victoria Falls: from Grade 5 white-water rafting, bungee jumping, abseiling and zip-lining, the amusement never ends.
This morning we have time for one final activity before returning to Victoria Falls airport for our flight back to O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Safe travels!

We were fascinated to learn how close we were to each and every animal and so impressed with the guides. We became friends with all of them in a very short time—my children will definitely be returning thanks to you, your planning, and the wonderful African people we met.— Kathleen Murphy
