We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.
These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.

Even in the midst of its vibrant economic growth, Vietnam is as charming, picturesque and wondrous as the first time we cycled here more than a decade ago. The country is thriving, meaning the roads are a bit better (making our bikes a little happier), and even more luxurious hotels pepper the coast. The people, however, remain the same: gracious, warm, and infinitely inviting—and we certainly meet a lot of them on this epic journey from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. In between, we cover all the highlights, from China Beach to the Imperial Tombs, to endless miles of scenic, colourful country and coastal roads.

Depending on your arrival time today, we will set up a great walking tour of town followed by a cyclo ride (bike-propelled rickshaws) along tree-lined boulevards, experiencing the city’s historic architecture and the delightfully chaotic street life.
After a quick flight to Danang, you'll head out for a cycle through the countryside and into colourful market stalls and shops of Hoi An. Tonight, meet at our friend Duc’s restaurant for a tasting of Vietnam’s best fusion cuisine.
Head into the market to watch the women haggle over the day’s fresh fish catch. After an authentic 'pho' breakfast, take a ride around Hoi An, passing through traditional rice paddies interspersed with ancestral tombs, water buffalo and hundreds of smiling children.
This morning, we head for a great bike ride passing through a local pottery village, where you'll have the chance to try your hand at this ancient art form. The ride ends with a lesson in Vietnamese cuisine; an event that promises to keep you entertained, trained and well fed.
This morning we fly to the beach city of Nha Trang, where we will head to the coast for a light seaside lunch and maybe some frolicking in the waves before we hit the road on our bikes. Spend the evening sipping champagne while watching the sunset from the privacy of your beachfront villa, or socializing on the deck before dining at the hotel.
Take the whole day off to explore the resort and the hotel spa. There are many options to help you make the most of this unbelievable property; from water sports, to working on your tan, to tennis, to beach volleyball—the choice (as always) is yours.
The relaxation continues today as you sink deeper into vacation mode. For those who want to hit the trail again, you can head inland to explore local villages and rice paddies on two wheels, or opt for a hike through the jungle that finishes at a secluded beach.
Today after breakfast, we will head back to the mainland for a flight to Saigon! Following a quick stop at the hotel, you'll be whisked around town on a motorbike tour of the city, taking in landmarks including the Opera House, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office.
Based on your outbound flight time, we will transfer you to the airport for your departing flight.
