Level 1: Occasional
Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day over relatively flat terrain with a few small hills—all very manageable for people trying their first biking trip.
Walking – 6-10 km (4-6 mi.) a day on country lanes, footpaths and coastal or forest trails, all on relatively flat terrain, perhaps with an occasional hill.
Level 2: Recreational
Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day over terrain that’s relatively flat but will include inclines and the occasional climb or two.
Walking – 8-12 km (5-7 mi.) a day over relatively flat terrain, with occasional steeper climbs.
Level 3: Enthusiast
Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day in gently rolling countryside, with occasional longer climbs to points that are well worth the effort.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) a day over rolling terrain on a variety of surfaces. Most days, one or two steeper climbs to spectacular viewpoints or places of interest.
Level 4: Avid
Biking – Roughly 50 km (30 mi.) a day in consistently rolling countryside, with repeated climbs and longer options available.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) over terrain that varies between rolling and hilly, with a few steeper climbs.
Level 5: Expert
Biking – 50-60 km (30-45 mi.) a day over both level and tougher, hillier terrain with multiple 100 km (62 mi.) options. The routes are designed for avid cyclists and include plenty of chances to push yourself.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) a day over fairly hilly terrain offering lots of challenges. Routes are along high meadow paths and/or well-maintained cliffside or alpine trails, with a few steep ascents to make you feel invigorated.
Chart the Turquoise Coast onboard the Lycian Queen
Turkey has it all: a stunning coastline of over 5,000 miles, clout as the inspiration for the word ‘turquoise’ (brought into our lexicon to describe the colour of the sea around its southern shores); breath-taking natural wonders and a rich cultural heritage encompassing Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman influences; more Greek ruins than Greece; and more Roman ruins than Italy! On this trip, you’ll experience Turkey from your luxury gulet as you sail from island to island. Onboard, wellness practices and time to rejuvenate before hopping off to hike ancient relics and stunning coastal peaks.

Day by Day
Rendezvous in the Datça Peninsula before striking out on a hike through the woods with views of the crystal clear sea off in the distance. Our luxury gulet awaits, settle in and set sail to hunt down the perfect swimming location.
Rise with the sun this morning over yoga on the deck then hop on land to explore the hills of Icmeler on foot. With refreshments in hand, set sail for a small beach town where sea caves beg to be explored with a swim.
Explore Ekincik on land and hike to the Acropolis of Caunos. Dine on fresh local seafood before hopping in a riverboat to explore the town of Dalyan. Back on our own boat, sip cocktails before dinner as the sun sets.
Hike through remote bays and pass ancient ruins on your way to meet with locals for a traditional lunch. Arrive back to our yacht where a flexible afternoon allows you to maximize what you enjoy most—be it snorkeling over sunken ruins or lounging on the deck.
Explore Saklıkent canyon (one of the deepest in the world) and the ruins of Pinara, a remote ancient archeological site. Our local friend will host us for lunch nearby before taking some time to stroll through the town then hopping back on our yacht for the evening.
Walk with a local expert starting from a small lagoon shadowed by Babadağ Mountain to reach Gemiler Bay. Back on our boat, spend the rest of the afternoon swimming and snorkeling around a nearby island scattered with olive trees and Byzantine chapel ruins.
Travel north today and pass by Lycian temple tombs to reach the charming town of Fethiye for a stroll. A special final evening together is planned for us, set in the ultimate scenic location of course.
This morning relax over breakfast before disembarking at a port near the city centre of Göcek for your onward travels. Farewell!
Amble ancient lanes
Climb aboard the Lycian Queen, a traditional Gulet built and designed in the Black Sea region of Turkey, an area famous for high-quality ship building. At a length of 37 metres, this small-group yacht is equipped with 8 private cabins and many water-based amenities. The main deck features two different seating areas—one shaded, one sun-drenched—to enjoy meals and bask in quality “open-air” relaxation time.
I believe the level of service B&R offers is unparalleled. I don't have time to research exotic destinations and trust that B&R has the resources to do so and provide me with a truly elevated experience.—Patricia Buse
We love to tell our friends about your trips.—Greg Gardner
This trip is appropriate for travellers who enjoy going for a good walk and can handle an incline or two and mountainous terrain.
