Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day over relatively flat terrain with a few small hills—all very manageable for people trying their first biking trip.
Walking – 6-10 km (4-6 mi.) a day on country lanes, footpaths and coastal or forest trails, all on relatively flat terrain, perhaps with an occasional hill.
Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day over terrain that’s relatively flat but will include inclines and the occasional climb or two.
Walking – 8-12 km (5-7 mi.) a day over relatively flat terrain, with occasional steeper climbs.
Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day in gently rolling countryside, with occasional longer climbs to points that are well worth the effort.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) a day over rolling terrain on a variety of surfaces. Most days, one or two steeper climbs to spectacular viewpoints or places of interest.
Biking – Roughly 50 km (30 mi.) a day in consistently rolling countryside, with repeated climbs and longer options available.

Biking – 50-60 km (30-45 mi.) a day over both level and tougher, hillier terrain with multiple 100 km (62 mi.) options. The routes are designed for avid cyclists and include plenty of chances to push yourself.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) a day over fairly hilly terrain offering lots of challenges. Routes are along high meadow paths and/or well-maintained cliffside or alpine trails, with a few steep ascents to make you feel invigorated.
Pillowy green hill stations and laid out like patchwork quilts, bristling with temples and ashrams. Have a private tour of Cochin with a local scholar – compared to the hustling north, the pace here is slow and the surroundings are tranquil. So are our hotels, boutique gems like Malabar House. Things only heat up in the subtle yet fiery cuisine, as you’ll note during a home-cooked meal.

Today you'll journey to the beautiful hill station of Ooty in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. From here, you'll visit India's oldest and largest botanical garden.
Venture to Coonoor, where you will visit a green tea plantation for a tasting session and glorious lunch. To get back to Ooty, you'll ride the famous toy train. Toot toot!
After checking into your hotel in Pollachi, you can either visit the market or check out some of the fabulous colourful temples that dot the region.
Travel to Madurai and participate in the evening bed ceremony at the Meenakshi Temple, where you’ll witness the Brahmin priests remove Shiva from his sanctum and parade him around the temple.
Enjoy a daytime visit to the Minakshi Temple and spend the afternoon browsing the markets that surround it.
Embark on a stunningly scenic drive to Thekkady. Once you have settled into your oasis-like hotel, you'll check out a kalaripayattu show and see what is one of the oldest fighting systems in existence.
Drive to Kumarakom to begin your two-night cruise through the magical canals of backwater Kerala, travelling along the main waterway of Vembanad Lake. Lunch will be on board with a traditional performance.
Observe the life along these waterways and pass through one of the few areas in the world where farming is done below sea level. Navigate the narrower sections of the backwaters in a traditional rice barge.
