Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day over relatively flat terrain with a few small hills—all very manageable for people trying their first biking trip.
Walking – 6-10 km (4-6 mi.) a day on country lanes, footpaths and coastal or forest trails, all on relatively flat terrain, perhaps with an occasional hill.
Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day over terrain that’s relatively flat but will include inclines and the occasional climb or two.
Walking – 8-12 km (5-7 mi.) a day over relatively flat terrain, with occasional steeper climbs.
Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day in gently rolling countryside, with occasional longer climbs to points that are well worth the effort.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) a day over rolling terrain on a variety of surfaces. Most days, one or two steeper climbs to spectacular viewpoints or places of interest.
Biking – Roughly 50 km (30 mi.) a day in consistently rolling countryside, with repeated climbs and longer options available.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) over terrain that varies between rolling and hilly, with a few steeper climbs.
Biking – 50-60 km (30-45 mi.) a day over both level and tougher, hillier terrain with multiple 100 km (62 mi.) options. The routes are designed for avid cyclists and include plenty of chances to push yourself.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) a day over fairly hilly terrain offering lots of challenges. Routes are along high meadow paths and/or well-maintained cliffside or alpine trails, with a few steep ascents to make you feel invigorated.
The state of South Australia is a one-stop shop for nearly all of the quintessential elements Australia is known for. Experience endless Outback roads, witness the haunting Flinders Ranges, and cycle through fertile hills and valleys of some of Australia’s most famous wine regions, including the Barossa and Clare Valleys. Then, hop on over to Kangaroo Island, where there is plenty of opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Australia’s most iconic land and marine creatures. This morning, a one-hour road trip to Kingscote will connect you with your flight to Adelaide, and onward to your next destination.
Built in the 1850s alongside the Outback’s Flinders Ranges, Arkaba is a place that could only be found in Australia. The homestead is at the heart of a 60,000 acre former sheep-station with heaps of wildlife to be spotted. Homestead meals are served with generosity and hospitality in the cozy dining room, or outside under the endless canopy of stars.
Situated in the heart of Adelaide, The Mayfair is a heritage-listed and beautifully renovated Romanesque building. It’s a great home base from which to explore some of Adelaide’s renowned cafes, restaurants and wine-bars, or to discover the fabulous Central Market.
A gorgeous 3000 acre rural property, just 30 km from the main town of Kingscote on Kangaroo Island. The property has been in the Wheaton Family since 1911 and Graham and Lyn are marvelous hosts. The farm produces lamb, wool and grain and there is always plenty of Australian wildlife around for you to discover.
I don’t know how B&R does it – the quality of their trips is so consistently high! Just when we think they couldn’t do anything as good as our last trip, they do! Another fantastic experience with B&R.
