Carbon Neutral Trip
Tuscany is where vineyard-laced hills meet timeless towns and every meal tells a story. Ride through Chianti’s golden landscapes, walk through vineyards guided by passionate female winemakers, and linger over long lunches with women who’ve perfected the art of Italian hospitality. From homemade pizza in the vines to private tastings in storied cellars, this is Italy at its most soulful.

Indulge in lunch at the private winery of our longtime friend, followed by a cellar visit led by her passionate female winemaker.

After a day of walking and riding, unwind at Shambhala Retreat, an incredible spa nestled in COMO Castello del Nero.

Italian food is world-renowned—learn its secrets as you try your hand at making crostata in a cooking class hosted in our friend’s home.

Good to know

Terrain
Tuscany and Umbria offer diverse terrain, including asphalt, dirt roads and cobblestone paths with some up and downhills. We recommend familiarity with walking in these conditions.

Driving
Due to the nature of this trip, transfers are required to and from the walks on most days.

Packing
Tuscany can have variable weather throughout the day in October. We recommend packing a Gore-Tex raincoat to stay comfortable and dry, and hiking boots or sneakers with a good grip for walking.

Rides
Our daily routes include plenty of challenging up and downhills. For non-avid cyclists, consider an e-bike for extra support.
