Day 1

Our adventure begins on a scenic train bound for Kandy, winding through lush tea farms, misty mountains and charming villages. Upon arrival, explore the serene Udawatta Kele Sanctuary. End the day unwinding by the hotel pool, savouring a wonderful dinner and reflecting on the journey into Sri Lanka's breathtaking Hill Country.

5 km (3 mi.) flat looped walk through Udawatta Kele jungle reserve

Day 2

We’ll explore historic temples and scenic country roads this morning, eventually reaching a picnic lunch with views of rice paddies and spice gardens. Later, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens with a local expert before ending the day at Kandy House, where we’ll enjoy a private dinner and traditional performance.

Day 3

Our day begins at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Kandy. Then, we’re off to Sigiriya, stopping at the awe-inspiring Dambulla Cave Temples, filled with ancient Buddhist statues and art. End the day immersed in local village life, with opportunities to visit spice gardens or take a bullock cart ride, before a relaxing evening under the stars.

Day 4

This morning, we’re off to the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, climbing to its summit to explore ancient ruins and take in stunning views. For a more relaxed option, enjoy breakfast and a scenic walk to a viewpoint of the fortress. After a delicious lunch with a cooking demo, we’ll spend the afternoon unwinding at Uga Ulagalla.

Day 5

Explore the rich history of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s ancient capital and UNESCO World Heritage site. Wander through the vast ruins, visiting iconic sites like the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi tree, then enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the ruins. After uncovering the city’s fascinating past, return to Uga Ulagalla to relax and reflect on the day’s discoveries.

10 km (6 mi.) walk around the ruins of Anaradhapura

Day 6

Begin the day with a flight to the South Coast, followed by lunch and a walk through tea farms en route to Galle. In the evening, dive into the history of South Asia’s largest living fort before enjoying a night at your own pace.

8 km (3.5-5 mi.) flat village walk near Koggala Lake

Day 7

Start the day with a peaceful riverboat tour and a scenic walk through inland Galle’s villages, rice paddies and cinnamon gardens, capped off with a local cooking experience. Spend the afternoon exploring Galle Fort at leisure before enjoying a memorable final dinner.

After one final breakfast, you’ll be driven to the Colombo Airport for onward travels.
