Walk ancient Highland paths, trace wild coastlines along the Moray Firth and cross some of the country’s most dramatic mountain passes as the landscape shifts from coast to glen. Along the way, discover Iron Age brochs, fairytale castles and storied whisky distilleries that bring the Highlands’ layered history vividly to life. Day 1
Begin in Inverness and head into the Highlands for your first hike along Knockfarrel’s “Cat’s Back” ridge, with sweeping views over the Cromarty Firth and an ancient hillfort at the summit. After a relaxed country house lunch, continue to the coastal village of Cromarty and cross the Moray Firth by boat, with the chance to spot local wildlife along the way. Settle into Glenmorangie House and gather for dinner in this warm and characterful retreat.

Day 2
Walk a scenic stretch of the John o’Groats Trail from Brora to Golspie, passing an Iron Age broch before arriving at the fairytale setting of Dunrobin Castle overlooking the Moray Firth. Continue to Dornoch for a refined Highland seafood lunch, then explore its historic streets and wide sandy beach. End the day with a visit to Glenmorangie Distillery for a whisky tasting and before dinner together.

Day 3
Journey west into the dramatic Torridon mountains for a guided walk in Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve, ascending through ancient Caledonian pine forest and rugged Highland terrain to sweeping views over Loch Maree. Enjoy a gourmet picnic before continuing to The Torridon, a five-star retreat set on Loch Torridon. Spend the afternoon at leisure exploring the shoreline before dinner at the Bo & Brasserie.

Long option: 8 km (5 mi.) | Elevation gain: 626 m (2054 ft.)
Day 4
Set out on a guided walk in the glens of Beinn Damh, surrounded by some of Torridon’s most iconic peaks. Continue to the remote harbour village of Lower Diabaig for a seafood lunch, then spend the afternoon with a local photographer capturing the Highlands’ ever-changing light. End the day at leisure, with the option to dine in the nearby village of Shieldaig.

Day 5
Walk the historic Coffin Road to Applecross, an ancient route with sweeping views over Wester Ross and the Inner Sound. After lunch, tackle the legendary Bealach na Bà, climbing its dramatic hairpins for some of the Highlands’ most unforgettable views. End the day with a gin tasting and a Michelin-starred dinner—a fitting finale to your time in the Highlands.

Day 6
Your guide will transfer you to Inverness Airport for your onward travel. En route, enjoy a final glimpse of the Highlands—rolling hills, open skies, and quiet stretches of countryside—before your journey home.

Transfers & Travel Times
Journey times may be longer than expected due to winding roads and single-track routes, but the scenery along the way more than makes up for it.

Air Conditioning
With the Highlands’ temperate climate, hotels typically do not have air conditioning. On warmer days, fans can be provided for added comfort.

Getting There
Inverness is easily reached via connecting flights through London or Amsterdam, or by a scenic train journey of approximately 3.5 hours from Edinburgh.

Highland weather is famously changeable—be prepared for all four seasons in a single day.
