Day by Day

No two trips are ever the same, but this will give you a taste of what your journey will be like.

Day 1

Visit the asaichi (morning market) before we bike along the scenic coast to a gorgeous waterfall and enjoy lunch at a local winery overlooking the sea. Before dinner, we have a very special welcome ceremony to attend.

Day 2

Before we pedal north, learn about a traditional craft at an artist’s studio nestled in the woods. Our ride ends at our new stay for a soak in the hot tub overlooking the bay.

Day 3

Cycle through sleepy fishing villages and lush forests as we hug the coast. Visit a 5th-generation sake brewery (favoured by the emperor) before continuing on to a hot spring town.

Day 4

Today we make our way around the island of Noto through parkland and fishing communities. After some handmade soba noodles for lunch, we'll carry on to explore the historic Kanazawa.

Day 5

Explore the city of Kanazawa and one of Japan's greatest gardens before a traditional tea ceremony. Our scenic loop ride leads to another hot spring town where culinary masters delight our senses at dinner tonight.

Day 6

Among the mountains, discover a striking Buddhist temple before we cycle back to Yamanaka to explore. Tonight, we celebrate our memorable adventures in true Japanese style!

Day 7

After breakfast, we'll say farewell in Kyoto. Opt to extend your stay in Kyoto which is worthy of several nights with temples, shrines and UNESCO World Heritage sites to explore.

This was the most wonderful trip. The biking, cultural experiences and hotels were perfect. Above all, the guides were fantastic. I would do this trip all over again.

Why choose a Small Group trip?

An Effortless Journey

Our expert Experience Designers are perfectionists, using first-hand knowledge of routes, restaurants and hotels to create an unforgettable experience. This means all the planning is taken care of for you. All you need to do is enjoy.

Active Exploration

From emerging destinations to iconic sights, B&R trips show you the world in a new way on our expertly developed cycling, walking and hiking routes. Travelling through historic villages and romantic vineyards and up to striking viewpoints, our routes offer a variety of challenges for every activity level.

Friends for Life

Your fellow travellers are as passionate and curious about the world as you are, which means the conversations and laughs will be as free flowing as your drink of choice. Don't be surprised if your group starts planning a reunion before the trip is done.

Room for Surprises

We love a plan, but we adore a spontaneous moment even more. Whether it’s an impromptu al fresco meal or a moon-lit musical performance, our advice is to expect the unexpected.
