- Difficulty Level
Level 1: Occasional
Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day over relatively flat terrain with a few small hills—all very manageable for people trying their first biking trip.
Walking – 6-10 km (4-6 mi.) a day on country lanes, footpaths and coastal or forest trails, all on relatively flat terrain, perhaps with an occasional hill.
Level 2: Recreational
Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day over terrain that’s relatively flat but will include inclines and the occasional climb or two.
Walking – 8-12 km (5-7 mi.) a day over relatively flat terrain, with occasional steeper climbs.
Level 3: Enthusiast
Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day in gently rolling countryside, with occasional longer climbs to points that are well worth the effort.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) a day over rolling terrain on a variety of surfaces. Most days, one or two steeper climbs to spectacular viewpoints or places of interest.
Level 4: Avid
Biking – Roughly 50 km (30 mi.) a day in consistently rolling countryside, with repeated climbs and longer options available.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) over terrain that varies between rolling and hilly, with a few steeper climbs.
Level 5: Expert
Biking – 50-60 km (30-45 mi.) a day over both level and tougher, hillier terrain with multiple 100 km (62 mi.) options. The routes are designed for avid cyclists and include plenty of chances to push yourself.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) a day over fairly hilly terrain offering lots of challenges. Routes are along high meadow paths and/or well-maintained cliffside or alpine trails, with a few steep ascents to make you feel invigorated.
Exploring two coasts by sea
To truly understand Italy’s most enigmatic island, we explore it by sea, setting sail in an exquisite gulet which will serve as our home during our voyage. Biking or hiking off the ship each day, we explore sheep-covered hills, vertiginous limestone cliffs that plunge into the cobalt sea, and the glam of Costa Smeralda. Unforgettable? Cruising to La Maddalena and Corsica.

Day by Day
Our warm-up ride begins in northern Sardinia's most scenic village. Views of the sea punctuate our journey until we reach the La Beddu Winery for a taste of Sardinia’s delicious varietals.
Cycle past sandy coves; incredible granite formations; and a seascape that reveals a majestic patchwork of blue, emerald, and green on Maddalena Island. A dip in the water is encouraged!
We set sail across the Strait of Bonifacio to Corsica. Upon reaching the inlet of Isola Plana, we'll begin our hike along the southern coast, walking beneath spectacular white limestone cliffs to Bonifacio’s citadel.
Today’s ride takes us to a family farm where we will immerse ourselves in authentic cheese-making. A short walk then leads us to a stunning remote beach—accessible only by foot!
We cruise out of Bonifacio and motor along the Corsican coast to the picturesque marina of Santa Giulia. We'll hop on our bikes for a scenic ride to Porto Vecchio, a town noted for its fishing history.
Today we make our way back to mainland Sardinia’s shores to bike inland along hills of Mediterranean vegetation and cork trees. Lunch will be in a classic family-run Agriturismo with amazing views of the ocean.
On Spargi Island, we'll hike alongside pink granite rock formations to a stunning view over the turquoise sea. After lunch, explore or relax at your leisure. A festive final dinner with a special surprise awaits us.
Following breakfast, we disembark in Cannigione for the approximately 35-minute drive to the Olbia airport for your onward travels. Arrivederci!
Drop anchor in pure paradise.
Gulet Victoria, Sardinia
The Victoria spans roughly 25 metres (82 feet) in length, with a Mahogany-finished interior and six cabins with ensuite bathrooms. The fully-air conditioned vessel enjoys two common dining areas (where we’ll gather for breakfast and dinner), a sunbathing deck and endless epic views of the surrounding Tyrrhenian sea.
Travelling with B&R is what being alive is all about. It's action packed and incredibly invigorating with so many personal highlights that it's hard to single out just one.— Andrew Crowe
This trip is appropriate for travellers who bike about once a week at home. Your daily rides are 22 to 52 km (14 to 31 mi) often over rolling terrain, some with challenging climbs. There is also a moderate hike and an easy going walk while on Corsica. Van support is at hand for the cycling, allowing you short shuttles to reduce the distance of any ride, but your experience is definitely improved with consistent training leading up to your trip.
What’s included? Everything you need. Plus everything you’d
