Day by Day
Spend a few days exploring Wellington on your own before meeting with your guide for a short flight across Cook Strait into Blenheim. Upon landing in the South Island, enjoy a light lunch at a local winery in the gorgeous Marlborough region.
Start today’s walk on the Queen Charlotte Track — one of New Zealand’s most celebrated coastal walks. Dine on a lovely picnic lunch en route, before boating back to the lodge for a relaxing evening.
Wake up to the sound of native New Zealand birds before setting out on an incredible hike on the Tirohanga Track. Move further south to Kaikoura and explore the area by foot and boat, on the lookout for the local wildlife such as fur seals and whales.
Swim with dolphins in the bay and get up close and personal with these friendly mammals. Then join your local guide for an introduction to Maori culture before making your way back to the lodge for a delicious dinner.
Venture out on an optional sunrise stroll before taking a flight to Queenstown. Meet with your local driver and head to the UNESCO World Heritage area of Fiordland National Park and onto your luxury lodge.
Journey across Lake Te Anau and to the start of the famous Milford Track. In the company of a Kiwi flora and fauna guru, wander along the valley floor, following the crystal clear Clinton River and surrounded by towering mountains.
Head north along the shores of Lake Te Anau, winding your way up the valley through the amazing Homer Tunnel, and down into beautiful Milford Sound. Take in the sights and sounds as you enjoy lunch from your boat cruise.
Enjoy the scenic flight back north to Queenstown, known as the ‘Adventure Capital of the World’. You may choose to spend spend a few days exploring the city, or be dropped off at the airport for your flight home. Safe travels!

Our daily walks range in distance from 3 to 14 km (2.5 to 8 mi.) and when not on paved city streets, predominantly on well-maintained nature tracks. Depending on the activities, there may be some glacial walks under the guidance of your B&R or local guide.

Walking Sticks & Hip Holsters
Included with all walking trips are Leki telescoping walking sticks and custom-made padded hip holsters, which comfortably carry one full half-litre water bottle. And while the walking sticks get “recycled” for use by another B&R traveller, the holsters are yours to keep at trip’s end.
