We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.
These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.

Day by Day
Arrive at your luxury accommodation in Nairobi and unwind, exploring the nearby shops and museums. Your safari adventure begins tomorrow!
Begin your journey in the Borana Conservancy, home to some of the highest populations of endangered species in Kenya. The activities here are endless—hiking, biking, horseback riding, game drives, take your pick.
Borana is a Big Five destination, so prepare for sightings as you explore the area further—hike along ancient elephant trails or visit the stunning blue pools and waterfalls of the Ngare Ndare Forest.
Get an inside look at the anti-poaching efforts currently underway in Borana. Then, spend the afternoon lounging by the pool (and soaking in the incredible mountain views).
Say hello to the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve and cross the rope bridge into your gorgeous safari camp on the banks of the Mara River.
Explore the 1,500 acres of Ngare Serian's exclusive conservation area by foot (with your trusted safari guide, of course). The Mara houses the densest population of predators in Kenya—keep your eyes peeled!
After an early morning game drive, spend a lazy afternoon back at camp overlooking the river while the birds sing in the background.
Board your private charter back to Nairobi, where you'll spend the day exploring the local boutiques and elephant orphanage. This evening, you'll be driven to the airport for your onward journey. Farewell!
Gain a new perspective.
One Forty Eight, Nairobi

Borana Lodge, Laikipia County
As one of East Africa’s original luxury safari experiences, Borana is an eco-lodge constructed with the environment in mind. Its secluded cottages are built around the contours of the hills, creating a natural haven of rock forged walls and ranch wood furniture. Cottages boast an open fireplace, a spacious en-suite bathroom and a private veranda, perfect for animal viewing. View hotel website »
Ngare Serian, Mara North Conservancy
This eco-conscious lodge consists of a shared mess tent and four private sleeping tents. Overlooking the river, the spacious structures are understated and incredibly comfortable. Each tented suite has a private deck, a four-post bed, a shower with a view, a separate bathroom and plenty of room within which to change, store personal effects and stretch after hours spent travelling the conservancy's many trails.
