Day by Day
Meet your guide at the airport and settle in at your hotel for the exciting days ahead.
Embark on a city tour of Tbilisi, taking in highlights such as Metekhi Church, Chardin Street and the Synagogue. This evening, the hotel's sommelier will introduce you to the world of Georgian wines.
Journey to Kakheti Province, Georgia's foremost wine region for a wine tasting with the monks at Alaverdi Monastery. Visit the City of Gremi in the afternoon and tour the remains of this destroyed former capital.
Do some people watching at the Jvari Monastery in Mtskheta, then explore the gorgeous Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Stop in at a traditional family-owned winery this afternoon and learn about their production of traditional qvevri wines.
Spend the day exploring the incredible remains of the 12thC Vardzia cave-monastery. Carved into the side of a mountain, legend says it was destroyed by Alexander the Great, then rebuilt and destroyed countless times in the following centuries.
Take a scenic hike through Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, one of the largest national parks in Georgia. Tonight, arrive in Kutaisi in time for a tour and a specially planned dinner.
Arrive in Svaneti and set forth on a gorgeous hike through the Southern Caucasus range (stops for photo-ops are inevitable!). Tonight, you'll visit the town famous for its peculiar Svanetian towers.
Take 4x4s to the enclave of Ushguli, one of the highest continually inhabited regions in Europe. Explore the village and continue through the Enguri Valley—the views are otherworldly.
Head to the shores of the Black Sea and uncover the city of Batumi. Choose from a variety of planned activities including a city tour, a boardwalk stroll, a museum visit and more. Tonight, our final dinner is at a special location in the scenic Old Town.
After breakfast at the hotel, our drivers will bring us to the Batumi Airport. It’s a 1-hour flight back to Tbilisi this morning for connections to onward travel. Hope to see you soon!

Walking Sticks & Hip Holsters
Included with all walking trips are Leki telescoping walking sticks and custom-made padded hip holsters, which comfortably carry one full half-litre water bottle. And while the walking sticks get “recycled” for use by another B&R traveller, the holsters are yours to keep at trip’s end.
