We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.
These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.
“I can’t say I really ‘work out,’ but I’m in good shape and am relatively active.”
“I enjoy a good walk or ride, and feel comfortable while on the move.”
“I get moving at least once a week, and don’t mind a little sweat.”
“I get moving a few times per week and enjoy some exertion.”
“I want to feel invigorated each day and going hard is how I like to do that.”
A journey beneath the Northern Lights
Bundle up for a magical winter adventure in Finland, where we’ll dash through pine forests with huskies and take a nighttime snowmobile ride while the Northern Lights dance overhead. Back in Rovaniemi, dubbed the official village of Santa Claus (see—magic!), we’ll travel with a reindeer caravan, ice fish with experts and cruise the Gulf of Bothnia aboard our icebreaking vessel.

Don some skis on a guided forest tour this morning. After lunch, we'll head to the Arctic SnowHotel and try our hand at creating an ice sculpture. Once the sun goes down, we'll take out our e-sleds for a ride.
Discover the traditional way of travelling throughout Lapland—with reindeer! They'll guide us through the forest before we head to Rovaniemi for a visit to the Arktikum museum and a guided tour of the town.
On our snowmobiles, we'll venture to the water to learn all about ice fishing with our local expert guide. This afternoon, we'll visit a local handicraft studio to create a souvenir made from reindeer antlers.
Aboard the Sampo, we'll crush through the icefields on the Gulf of Bothnia and gear up in specialized wetsuits for a dip in the brisk waters. Tonight, we’ll warm up back at the hotel over a farewell dinner.
Enjoy a last Arctic breakfast at the hotel this morning before taking a private vehicle to the Rovaniemi airport for your onward travels. So long!
Experience the wonders of the Arctic.
