"I live on the French Riviera, about 15 minutes from the sea. My village is a sharp contrast from the coastal glitz of Nice, Cannes and Monaco. When you head to the inland villages, the rhythm of life becomes slower, more pronounced. For me, a day looks like meeting a friend at a café on a charming square, taking a walk in the woods or playing a leisurely game of pétanque."

the french riviera conjures images of glitz and glamour

But we uncover the unspoiled side of the coast, venturing to remote pockets where the old Provencal way of life prevails. Visits to market towns overflowing with artisanal cheese and local seasonal vegetables, medieval villages perched on hilltops enveloped in roses, jasmines, violets and orange blossoms (creating those famous perfumes) with stops along the way to bohemian artists, vibrant local storytellers and innovative chefs. Whether it's strolling along the quiet paths we’ve mapped out or spending an afternoon with our favourite local artist, we'll unveil a unique side of the Riviera.

French Riviera Walking

Hike coastal enclaves before peaking at hilltop viewpoints offering a bird's eye view of some of the most expensive real estate corners in the world. Stroll through medieval, cobblestone towns before tucking into the rolling countryside blanketed in perfectly manicured vineyards. Stop en route for a bit of glitz and glamour with a visit to the picturesque principality of Monaco; the world’s second-smallest independent state and one of the most luxurious playgrounds of the rich and famous.

French Riviera Food & Drink

Nestled between the Alps, the Italian border and the Mediterranean sea, a traditional menu in the French Riviera is as abundant and variable as its patchwork landscape. Starting with woven baskets overflowing in flakey, fresh-baked baguettes at the morning market and finishing with a chilled Cassis at sundown, the menu, like the people, reflects the Riviera's elegance with authenticity. Simple, understated bistros sit next to Michelin-starred restaurants with equal popularity. We'll explore it all, from local producers and artisan shop visits to in-depth cooking lessons and city-focused food strolls—all one bite at a time.

French Riviera Art & Culture

The French Riviera has enchanted a fair share of artists through its history, attracting creative minds such as Matisse, Picasso and Hitchcock. Its allure continues today in villages, like the once sleepy little town of Sant Paul de Vence, now converted into an art mecca, showcasing galleries and murals abound. The landscape, a bouquet of vibrant flowers used to create perfumes, candies, liquors and soaps, offers the perfect setting for our journey where we’ll visit workshops and tour towns under the expert eyes (and noses) of our local friends.
