We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.
These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.

Biking Between the Capitals of Cool
From the pulsating energy of Berlin to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Dresden, Germany still resonates as a flashpoint in history—but also a country with a progressive edge. Combine our urban explorations with rides that take us into the stunning countryside of Swiss Saxony, and the Elbe and Vltava River Valleys. Our Central European odyssey culminates in an evening peruse and unforgettable feast deep in the gothic beauty of Prague. Enjoy lunch on a punt, carefree moments in a biergarten on the Elbe and the deep silence of the New Green Vault. Wrap it in unparalleled B&R hospitality and experience a journey that peeks behind the Iron Curtain and covers the ages.

This was my first B&R trip and first biking trip ever. I was so impressed by all the little details and the general experience. My most memorable moment was simply getting to know the people on the trip and taking part in the rides. Our trip was amazing—it was fun, active, adventurous, unique and a great way to see a new part of the world.— Robin Storfer
We never wanted to be the biggest travel company in the world, just the best.
— George Butterfield
The riding is mostly flat and a good part of it is on dedicated bike paths. In Berlin we follow paths and quiet roads to get an inside view of the interesting history of these places. The Spree Forest is also very level riding, where riders could be required to push their bikes over a couple of low wooden bridges. In Saxony we bike along the river Elbe, which is virtually flat. Options for more biking are available almost everyday. Given the variety of road surfaces, B&R recommends a hybrid bike for all but the most confident riders.
“I’m in relatively good shape but I haven’t been on a bike since my last B&R trip.”
Relatively flat terrain with a few small hills—all very manageable for people trying their first biking trip.Read more on our Activity Levels
