Discover the Top End by air safari

Welcome to a journey like none you’ve ever done before—and one best discovered with a small group of your closest mates. Over 16 incredible days, you’ll explore the vastness of our sunburnt country and the best of the remote Australian outback on this private air journey. Setting off from Darwin, you’ll come to know the Northern Territory intimately soaring its skies via private plane, and the odd helicopter, and moving by foot and 4WD through its diverse landscapes. Along the way you’ll bed down in a range of properties some of which demand an adventurous spirit (your award-winning rustic coastal camp is only accessible by air or sea), but all of which have been carefully chosen to give you a true feel for the remote region you’ve entered.

Most important is that you feel agile enough to get in and out of planes, helicopters and boats. You'll hike through rough terrain at times, but most days offer a combination of casual exercise and outdoor activity.

What’s included? Everything you need. Plus everything you’d
want. Plus a few things you never knew you wanted ‘til you got them.

In a word: everything. In ninety words? Signature B&R guides; local experts; unique, unforgettable biking and walking routes; private tours; authentic local cuisine; lessons and demonstrations; local artisanal wines; wine tastings; all victuals and libations; all the endorphins you can handle; new insight; interesting, fun and like-minded travel companions; a feeling of total freedom. In short: an extraordinary, hassle-free journey of discovery.

  • All hotel accommodation
  • Meals as indicated in itinerary
  • Services of local guide(s) where detailed in the itinerary
  • All specified events and private tours as indicated in the itinerary

Walking Sticks & Hip Holsters

Included with all walking trips are Leki telescoping walking sticks and custom-made padded hip holsters, which comfortably carry one full half-litre water bottle. And while the walking sticks get “recycled” for use by another B&R traveller, the holsters are yours to keep at trip’s end.

Walking Sticks

trip pool Sometimes your B&R trip simply isn’t long enough! Extend your stay for the best vacation possible. If you wish to spend a few days in region either before or after your official B&R trip, and need assistance making those plans, your B&R Travel Advisor can help.

Spend more time in Australia

Australia is a huge continent, and there is plenty to see! Starting and ending your journey in Sydney, Melbourne or both is a great way to see more of the country and experience these beautiful, and very different cities. If you have more time, add on a few days relaxing in the Great Barrier Reef, or head to the Red Centre for some true Outback experiences in Uluru or The Centre. For some really unique experiences, head to the tropical Top End for wildlife, Aboriginal culture and remote Outback life, or explore the splendours of Kangaroo Island.
