Tackle incredible panoramas with ease
Alsatians are proud—proud to be Alsatian, and proud of what that means. As the stretch between Germany and France, the Alsatians have taken the gastronomy, customs and myths of those who pass through their region. Alsace is the result of years of mixing cultures, people and the indomitable character of the locals. On this adventure, you’ll saddle up on a faithful (and light-weight) e-bike winding past stretches of tidy vineyards, pausing to admire colourful towns and, bien sûr, sampling the regional wines.

Day by Day
Meet your B&R guides in Strasbourg before sailing off on your trusty e-bike through the historic city centre and onward toward Dachstein. Sit down for your first Alsatian meal—light, fresh fare enjoyed on the terrace.
Start the day with a ride through the orchards and forests that skirt the bottom of the mountains. Pause for a picnic, meet with stonemasons, taste the local unique wines and then delight in your hotel's spa.
Follow the Route des Vins travelling along winding roads past colourful villages. Later, understand the winemaking conditions particular to Alsace, as explained by our friend Paul Dussourt. Dinner tonight is a gorgeous affair in the hotel's garden.
Arrive by bike to the small town of Colmar where you'll take a guided tour of its historic centre. Explore the gastronomic delights of this town before extending your ride or returning to the hotel for some R&R at the lauded spa.
Head west on your bike passing some of the most quintessential villages of Alsace. Later this evening you'll experience a remarkable final dinner at Frères Haeberlin, a two Michelin-starred institution.
After a farewell breakfast, we will drive you to Strasbourg train station, where connections to Paris are frequent. Bon Voyage!
Cycle the Route des Vins.
5 Terres Hôtel & Spa, Barr
Nestling in the very heart of Barr, the wine-growing capital of Northern Alsace, this hotel transcends time with its elevated blend of luxury and visible history (exposed stone walls and wood beams are tangible proof of its 400-year heritage). With a beautiful, design-inspired spa built right into the ancient wine cellar, you’ll find pampering is paramount at this property, and not restricted to the spa alone, in fact, it stretches into every aspect of your stay. Hotel des Berges, Illhaeusern
Next door to Auberge de l’Ill, this Relais & Châteaux hotel is the stylish creation of the Haeberlins, the chefs and owners of the world famous restaurant. Set amid willow trees on the banks of the River Ill, it’s hard to imagine a finer hotel. View hotel website »
The events and dinners were superb. We loved the ambiance of the hotels and the incredible service and hospitality of our guides. A very memorable trip!— David and Judy Baum
While our daily routes average 40 to 50 km (25 to 31 mi.) daily, e-bike technology brings the peaks within everybody’s reach. With this in mind, we've rated this trip as recreational since the option for a boost is always available. The hills of Alsace are indeed alive though, and the more time you’ve spent in the saddle beforehand the more you will enjoy the ride.
“I ride my bike once or twice a month and am comfortable on two wheels.”
Relatively flat but will include inclines and the occasional climb or two.Read more on our Activity Levels
