Overview

Piedmont’s Alba White Truffle is one of the world’s most prized culinary treasures, yet its delicate ecosystem is under threat. Changes in land use, declining biodiversity, and abandoned woodland areas have put truffle habitats at risk. Save the Truffle, a grassroots initiative, works to protect and restore these precious truffle grounds, ensuring that the Alba White Truffle continues to thrive for future generations.

How We Support

B&R proudly supports Save the Truffle by funding tree planting, the creation of new truffle-growing areas, and the restoration of abandoned woodland. These efforts strengthen biodiversity, improve soil quality, and promote sustainable land management. The project also expands educational outreach, connecting over 200 students and 100 local residents and tourists to the truffle ecosystem.

Restoring and Expanding Truffle Habitats

B&R’s contributions enable the planting of at least 50 new trees and the creation of three truffle-growing areas. These initiatives help maintain and expand the natural habitat of Piedmont’s Alba White Truffles, securing the ecological conditions they need to thrive.

Community Involvement in Truffle Conservation

Beyond ecological restoration, Save the Truffle fosters community involvement. Educational projects and initiatives invite students, residents, and tourists to actively participate in conservation efforts, deepening awareness of truffle ecosystems and promoting sustainable stewardship of the land.

Enhancing Biodiversity for Alba White Truffles

By restoring abandoned woodland and creating new truffle areas, B&R’s support ensures the long-term health of Piedmont’s truffle ecosystem. These interventions enhance biodiversity, improve soil quality, and safeguard one of Italy’s most treasured culinary and cultural resources.
