Discover Europe

Our very first trip traversed Europe more than 50 years ago, and we’ve been exploring, befriending, indulging (and occasionally, imbibing) our way across it ever since. Today we’ve got the Continent covered: feel the warm breeze brushing off the Adriatic Sea, take in the cool air (and cooler culinary scene) of the Nordic north, explore a land of Viking legend in Iceland or get whisked away to a real life fairy tale in Bohemia.

Timeless landscapes and rich histories

Cycle Tuscany and Provence, hike the Dolomites and more on small group or private trips across Europe, guided by locals since 1966.

Norway claims fame as one of the world's most naturally beautiful countries. But winter lends itself to a different type of adventure. The snowy, untouched wilderness offers ample opportunities for connecting with nature, whether mushing your team of Alaskan huskies or snowmobiling across the Finnmark plateau. Retreat to the comforts of your cozy Arctic Wilderness Lodge, tucked far away from urban lights to maximize your chance of seeing the elusive northern lights.

Norway in winter is basically a snow globe—and on this trip, you get to play inside. Mush your own team of huskies, snowmobile across the silent Finnmark plateau, then warm up fireside at a wilderness lodge that’s heavy on hygge, light on cell signal. With luck, the northern lights will crash the party—no filter, just pure Arctic magic.

Our little secret in Italy

Savour the pace of Piemonte

Nowhere does the slowing down feel more apropos than Piemonte, the birthplace of Slow Food, where epicurean delights await around every corner and verdant vineyards abound. We pair our meals with many of the best vintages (on us, natch), then kick back at the intimate and gorgeous La Villa.

Spend 5 nights cycling Barolo's Nebbiolo vineyards in a small group. Family cellar visits, truffle hunts and pasta at tables you won't find without a guide.

Wander Lake Como’s garden-lined shores, scale castles with postcard views, and savour lakeside meals with Alice, our favourite local foodie. Swim crystal-clear Mergozzo, hunt for truffles with a seasoned tartufaio (and his adorable dog), and unwind each night in style.
