Level 1: Occasional
Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day over relatively flat terrain with a few small hills—all very manageable for people trying their first biking trip.
Walking – 6-10 km (4-6 mi.) a day on country lanes, footpaths and coastal or forest trails, all on relatively flat terrain, perhaps with an occasional hill.
Level 2: Recreational
Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day over terrain that’s relatively flat but will include inclines and the occasional climb or two.
Walking – 8-12 km (5-7 mi.) a day over relatively flat terrain, with occasional steeper climbs.
Level 3: Enthusiast
Biking – 40-50 km (25-30 mi.) a day in gently rolling countryside, with occasional longer climbs to points that are well worth the effort.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) a day over rolling terrain on a variety of surfaces. Most days, one or two steeper climbs to spectacular viewpoints or places of interest.
Level 4: Avid
Biking – Roughly 50 km (30 mi.) a day in consistently rolling countryside, with repeated climbs and longer options available.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) over terrain that varies between rolling and hilly, with a few steeper climbs.
Level 5: Expert
Biking – 50-60 km (30-45 mi.) a day over both level and tougher, hillier terrain with multiple 100 km (62 mi.) options. The routes are designed for avid cyclists and include plenty of chances to push yourself.
Walking – 11-15 km (7-10 mi.) a day over fairly hilly terrain offering lots of challenges. Routes are along high meadow paths and/or well-maintained cliffside or alpine trails, with a few steep ascents to make you feel invigorated.

Ride through Vietnam’s verdant rice paddies, then delve into the vibrant culture of Cambodia, where the whole family would marvel at ancient Angkor Wat. Not only the kids will adore the cuisine of this delectable corner of Asia, they’ll love the jungle scenery, crossing bamboo bridges, and cooking up a storm during cooking class. Day by Day
Explore Hanoi's Old Quarter and its delightfully chaotic street life on a fun-filled cyclo tour. You'll pass gorgeous architecture, Buddhist temples and some of the area's fascinating "tube houses". After lunch, pay a visit to the Military History Museum.
Pedal through quiet rice fields to the Thien Mu Pagoda before a traditional homemade lunch at our friend our friend Mr. Vinh’s house. Then, admire the architecture at the Khai Dinh tomb—one of the last emperors of imperial Vietnam.
Pedal through Hoi An’s beautiful countryside and tackle the famous "Pass of the Clouds". Then, pay a visit to the local tailor for some hand-sewn souvenirs. Tonight, we'll sit down for a taste of Vietnam's best fusion cuisine.
Wander through Hoi An's bustling morning market, then set out on a leisurely ride through quiet rice fields. Your ride ends with a fun-filled Vietnamese cooking class and optional hat-making workshop.
Spend the morning discovering secret tunnels and hidden grottos filled with religious statues and places of worship. Along the way, we are sure to see locals ambling along or Buddhist monks making their way to prayer.
Explore the local Khmer temples of present-day Cambodia this morning. This afternoon, escape the sun and head into the magnificent temple of Angkor Wat!
Visit the Bayon temples and whisk by silk cotton jungles and strangler fig trees with our local host. Your guide will be happy to discuss dinner recommendations for tonight.
Say goodbye at the hotel this morning after breakfast. Your guide will be happy to arrange transport to the airport.

This luxurious retreat is located in the peaceful countryside, yet still just 4 km (2 mi) from the centre of Hué. You’ll come to appreciate this after learning that the Vietnamese love to make use of the horns on their mopeds early in the morning! The rooms reflect the Vietnamese taste for simple, elegant luxury.

The Grand Hotel d’Angkor is the area’s finest colonial landmark and provides the perfect base for our temple visits.
