The right number of like-minded travellers to make new friends.
Your dates. Your group. Our expertly-designed itinerary.
Tailored to your interests, a bespoke travel experience.
Combines the hallmarks of any B&R itinerary (excellent hotels and beautiful routes) with the freedom of pacing each day exactly the way you like.
Throughout the day, a knowledgeable local guide provides insider access and expert tips. At night, you can explore and dine on your own.
Our B&R guides are with you throughout, anticipating needs, translating languages, providing advice and—above all—facilitating fun.
We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.
These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.
“I can’t say I really ‘work out,’ but I’m in good shape and am relatively active.”
“I enjoy a good walk or ride, and feel comfortable while on the move.”
“I get moving at least once a week, and don’t mind a little sweat.”
“I get moving a few times per week and enjoy some exertion.”
“I want to feel invigorated each day and going hard is how I like to do that.”
A European Delivery Self-Drive Experience
Filled with interesting sights of its own, Munich serves perfectly
as both bookends to a journey through the wonderful land and cityscapes
within a short radius of its walls. This itinerary showcases the best to the
south and east of the Bavarian capital: the imposing castles and pretty lakes
of Füssen; the towering peaks of Austria’s Tyrol region; the stylish ski meccas
of Innsbruck and Kitzbühel; and the joyous history of Salzburg’s musical legacy.
And with both autobahns and switchbacks along the path, what better way to
complete the loop than at the wheel of a fine performance automobile? It’s
the perfect opportunity for you and your new BMW to get to know each other.

Day by Day
Depart towards Füssen at the foothills of the Bavarian Alps in your newly purchased BMW; if the timing is right, pause for a hearty lunch of pretzel and beer along the shores of the Ammersee or Starnbergersee lakes. Your hotel sits right on the shore of yet another picturesque lake, the Forggensee. Check in, then enjoy tonight’s dinner in a great local gasthaus.
Start the day with an expert-guided tour of Neuschwanstein, the fabled castle of “Mad King” Ludwig that inspired Disney. If grand castles are your thing, there is also the chance to explore another of Ludwig’s creations, nearby Hohenschwangau. Take lunch in the locale of your choice, perhaps in the well-known German ski base of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Spend the morning exploring the shops of Innsbruck before pointing your BMW east, to Kufstein. This humble sub-Alpine community is the home of esteemed wineglass producer Riedel, who will welcome you at headquarters for a private “glass tasting” of their fine crystal.
Options abound today. In Kitzbühel, ride the cable-car to the top of the Horn massif, where you can enjoy a walk, or drive into the Obersalzberg region back in Bavaria, an area of stunning low-mountain landscapes and some history in the form of Hitler’s infamous Kehlsteinhaus retreat, better known as the “Eagle’s Nest.” At days end roll into Salzburg, City of Music.
Today, spend the morning discovering more of Salzburg on your own, or head up the autobahn to Munich to drop off your automobile for shipment. If timing permits, lunch on the pretty Chiemsee Lake is
recommended en route back to the Bavarian capital.
