We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.
These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.
“I can’t say I really ‘work out,’ but I’m in good shape and am relatively active.”
“I enjoy a good walk or ride, and feel comfortable while on the move.”
“I get moving at least once a week, and don’t mind a little sweat.”
“I get moving a few times per week and enjoy some exertion.”
“I want to feel invigorated each day and going hard is how I like to do that.”
Experience Magnificent Morocco
Morocco is one of our oldest friends—the land, in fact, where the idea of a B&R expedition was born. We saw a foreign, exotic, stunning country beautifully suited to our penchant for pedalling and knew we absolutely had to introduce B&R travellers to it, young and old alike. On this Family trip, we give you the best of Morocco: magical Marrakech, Berber villages, stunning oases, camel and donkey rides, kid-friendly kite surfing, a ropes course, fabulous food, the High Atlas Mountains and an absolutely unforgettable stay in the magical city of Essaouira.
*The activities on our Morocco Family Adventure trip are recommended for children age 12 years and older.

Day by Day
Depart on a modern-day caravan toward the High Atlas Mountains and embark on a bike ride through desert plains. Spend the afternoon with an introduction to the art of henna, or opt for a ride through Tamsoult Regional Park.
Walk to the remote Berber villages of Timalizen, Tamsoult and Tagadirt and immerse yourselves in daily mountain life. Later, while the adults relax, the kids will be off enjoying a ropes course in the fantastic Terres d’Amanar private park.
Say goodbye to the Atlas Mountains and hello to the Agafay desert! After a morning bike ride, our drivers host us to a homemade picnic. Continue to the La Pause eco-resort in the pristine desert oasis. Enjoy a camel ride at sunset, then dinner under the stars.
Head to the whitewashed port town of Essaouira and pedal towards lunch at an oceanside café in a sleepy surfer's village. After a kite-surfing lesson on the beach for the kids, we gather for a tasty seafood dinner at a famous local restaurant.
Bike towards the town of Sidi Kauki this morning, where the coastal views are stunning! This afternoon, our friend Hassan shares stories about his hometown as we explore Essaouira’s 18th-Century seafront ramparts.
Today, we make our way into Marrakech for a visit to the Majorelle Gardens and the Ben Youssef Madrasa. After, experience the chaos of Djemaa el-Fna square, where we’ll witness snake charmers, Berber storytellers and countless other bizarre activities.
Enjoy a fun-filled Moroccan cooking class at the celebrated Maison Arabe riad. After enjoying the fruits of our labour, we discover the Medina via scavenger hunt! Tonight, we're invited to the Riad Kniza, for a fabulous dinner.
Say your farewells this morning after breakfast before catching your flights home.

Villa de L’O, Essaouira
Located a few meters from the beach, the Villa de l’O is a 18thC palace which been tastefully restored a few years ago. The rooftop terrace offers the most beautiful views on the bay and enjoying a breakfast is a pure delight! View hotel website »
Naoura Barriere, Marrakech
This recently opened property is nestled in the walls of the ancient city. It offers all of the amenities you could dream and is built in the “Ryad style” with of course, a very large pool in the courtyard. It’s one of the most recent additions to the “Barrière” Hotels Collections and it also has in its walls one of the small “brother” of the so famous restaurant Le Fouquet’s in Paris! This trip was the best family vacation we have taken in large part due to B&R's understanding of how to balance activity/culture/relaxation/culinary components of a vacation.— Vicky Wheeler
We thought our trip with you to Morocco was outstanding! Thru various modes of transportation- biking, hiking, camel and mule, we got to learn about this remarkable country! We thought our guides, Olivier and Sebastian were great, and they took great pride in arranging special events/speakers/guides for us, which only made it all the more special.— Bonnie Glasky
We never wanted to be the biggest travel company in the world, just the best.
— George Butterfield
Daily biking distances usually vary from 20 to 50 km (12 to 30 mi.), with options on some days as far as 62 km (40 mi.). The terrain is generally flat, with a few hills along the way when we’re closer to the High Atlas Mountains. The difficulty of the ride often depends on which way the wind is blowing. The walking routes are mostly flat, except for our day in the Atlas Mountains.
“I ride my bike once or twice a month and am comfortable on two wheels.”
Relatively flat but will include inclines and the occasional climb or two.Read more on our Activity Levels
