We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.
These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.
“I can’t say I really ‘work out,’ but I’m in good shape and am relatively active.”
“I enjoy a good walk or ride, and feel comfortable while on the move.”
“I get moving at least once a week, and don’t mind a little sweat.”
“I get moving a few times per week and enjoy some exertion.”
“I want to feel invigorated each day and going hard is how I like to do that.”
A European Delivery Self-Drive Experience
Two great world cities in their own right, a journey from Munich to Paris offers myriad opportunities to explore the superb places in between. The densely wooded hills of Germany’s ‘Black Forest’ hide postcard villages interconnected by roads fit for Bimmerphiles. Mere miles to the west, across the stately Rhine, the elegant spires of Strasbourg anchor Alsace and its constellation of wine towns along the foothills of the Vosges mountains. Deeper into France, the road divides: follow the southern route and you’ll stray into the tiled roofs, pinot noir and chardonnay of Burgundy; veer north and you encounter Champagne country, Chardonnay with bubbles, and flying buttresses. Either fork leads to the gustatory riches of French haute cuisine and beyond, the pulse and passion of the City of Light.

Day by Day
Depart BMW’s Welt in Munich in your newly purchased BMW, setting out to explore the sleepy towns and medieval burgher houses of the Black Forest. Upon arrival in Baden-Baden, settle into its foremost hotel, Brenners Park.
Enjoy a day trip to the well-preserved city of Heidelberg, then continue to Speyer, another medieval gem on the banks of the Rhine. This afternoon, indulge in a couples massage at the sprawling Caracalla Spa.
Spend the morning exploring Strasbourg’s cathedral, winding streets and canals. This evening, you’re treated to a three Michelin star dinner with wine pairings at the stunning Auberge de l’Ill.
Pause for lunch in historic Besançon before arriving in Beaune, home to France’s (if not, the world’s), best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Enjoy a private walking tour of the town’s cobbled streets and its hospices before dinner at a restaurant of your choice.
Take the day to explore Beaune and the Cote d’Or – the surroundings becoming more of a wine list than a road map. This evening, enjoy an expert-led wine tasting as your aperitif before choosing the restaurant with the best cheese chariot for dinner.
Drop off your, now tried and tested, BMW in Paris. Bon voyage!

I don’t know how B&R does it – the quality of their trips is so consistently high! Just when we think they couldn’t do anything as good as our last trip, they do! Another fantastic experience with B&R.Carolyn Zaslaw
