"The Netherlands is a salty breeze, an endless horizon, an abundance of colour (flowers!) and fantastic seafood. Head over into Belgium for the iconic paths of the Ardennes, beers from the abbeys and charms of Bruges. So much to discover in so small a region—a paradise to design your trip!"

—Mario Koch, Experience Designer

Once known as the Low Countries, the lands that are now the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg share a long, tangled past. These are old lands rich in history and culture that have inspired grandmasters to paint, monks to brew and cyclists to take to the roads. In Holland, where tradition and innovation co-exist gracefully, you’ll bike past 13th c. windmills, hike through tulip fields reaching as far as the eye can see, and stroll cities bursting with cutting-edge design and fashion. In Belgium, bike world-class cycling routes through picturesque landscapes, battlefields and medieval towns, then finish the day with a beer, mussels and fritesas it’s been done for centuries.

THE NETHERLANDS & BELGIUM FAMILY ADVENTURE

The Netherlands and Belgium are a family's dream. Where fries are the most celebrated food, kids will show great appreciation for the culinary scene. And parents can indulge in Belgian monastic brews and Holland's oysters. Rather a sweet tooth? Well, then cover yourselves in thick sweetness during a Belgian chocolate workshop. And to still stay in shape, ride the abundance of flat and safe bike paths from medieval towns to endless beaches. Or slip on your gumboots and trod through the mudflats off the Dutch coast.

THE NETHERLANDS WALKING

Ramble through landscapes immortalized by Rembrandt, wander amongst windmills and tiptoe through a field of seven-million blooms that paint the horizon. You’ll taste the flavours of colonial history, read the vibrancy of his art and architecture with walks through Rotterdam’s Cubic Houses, and get a private tour of the Mauritshuis followed by traditional pancakes with local guide Marike. In the spectacular landscapes of Zeeland, discover tiny church isles that were a refuge from floods in the Middle Ages.

THE NETHERLANDS BIKING

If ever a country was made for relaxed biking, it surely must be Holland. With over 20,000 miles of flat, easy biking, we’re spoiled for choice as we turn our focus to the gorgeous landscapes and engaging people. Bike through fields of tulips, lunching en route in a private medieval tower. Ride through Kinderdijk’s 19 windmills, make cheese with Ineke in Gouda, tour the oyster pits with Meinte and explore the stunning landscapes of Zeeland.

Start the planning process

The Netherlands and Belgium are small countries that are very well connected and easy to travel from one to the other. Stay a bit longer and make your BeNeLux journey complete by adding a day or two in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, share some pints with the dwarfs “In Bruges” or spend a few nights discovering the canals and museums of Amsterdam. Whatever it is, connect with your Experience Designer to make it happen.
