Walking in the Footsteps of Gods
To see Amalfi in her glamourous travel-mag spreads is to catch but a glimpse of her beauty: those ruin-topped cliffs on chic Capri; the rugged mountain trails lined with cypress groves and rosemary around Ravello; and the famed Path of the Gods above Positano, a route so divine it can turn atheists into true believers. With private boats and insider knowledge, we’ll explore these majestic hills with a local naturalist, take lunch in a mountain hut with our pal Salvatore, sip a drink poolside in decidedly Italian luxury at the Hotel Caruso, and wrap it all up with… well, a girl’s got to have some secrets, no?
Please note that the 2011 Amalfi Coast Biking trip is different—please download its unique itinerary or call for more details.

Grand Hotel Quisisana, Capri
Opened by the Morgano family in 1868, the Grand Hotel Quisisana originally operated as a well-respected health centre. Perfectly situated next to the famous Piazza Umberto, it is now a beautiful luxury hotel and the place to stay in Capri.

Le Sirenuse, Positano
Overlooking the sea on the cliffs of Positano, Le Sirenuse was rated the best hotel in the world in Condé Nast Traveler. Need we say more? Well, yes. We should point out that we are the only active travel company invited to stay, thanks to our friendship with charming owner, Antonio Sersale. Over the years he has shared some of his favourite walks with us in the surrounding hills. Best of all, every room faces the sea offering views of the mythical islands of the Sirens.

Hotel Caruso, Ravello
The Caruso sits high above the Mediterranean with breathtaking views of the water and a famous belvedere. It is the fabulous new addition to the Orient Express Hotel Group. From its heyday at the turn of the century when it was very sought after as a residence (by the likes of King Farouk and Toscanini) to the stunning property it is today, guests continue to delight in the views, amenities and service. Here azure dreams are sure to accompany your stay and you will simply never want to leave.

Mary Anne Boyer
Amalfi Coast Walking 2010
"The trip was an outstanding experience—we are already looking forward to our next trip—the big problem is picking which one! Our guides were exceptional—there was nothing that was left unattended or not dealt with very professionally. It is hard to pick the most memorable moment—I took 800 pictures—but I would say our lunches on the first two days were my favourite times...very rustic, yet exceptional food."
Jerred Blanchard
Amalfi Coast Walking 2010
"The beauty of the Amalfi coast is stunning and brought to life by the walks, lunches, dinners and guides. All the third-party guides are very knowledgeable, with insights one could never glean on one's own, and the two B&R guides (Courtney Mundy and Dana Quinn) are marvelous. This is a B&R trip we will most certainly take again."

Moderate to Challenging
This trip is rated Moderate to Challenging. It is a walking trip that covers a variety of terrain that at times is challenging. The landscape can be quite mountainous, so be prepared for plenty of ups and downs. Those with vertigo may find some of the walks uncomfortable. Daily distances average 5 to 8 km (3 to 5 mi.), with some options for less (or more) challenging hikes. A number of our walks are on narrow footpaths through woods and along mountainsides, while others follow well-surfaced roads. Hiking boots are required on some walks. Please note that van support is limited on this trip due to the inaccessibility of trails by vehicle.
