We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.
These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.
“I can’t say I really ‘work out,’ but I’m in good shape and am relatively active.”
“I enjoy a good walk or ride, and feel comfortable while on the move.”
“I get moving at least once a week, and don’t mind a little sweat.”
“I get moving a few times per week and enjoy some exertion.”
“I want to feel invigorated each day and going hard is how I like to do that.”
See vibrant Vietnam on two wheels
Even in the midst of vibrant economic growth, Vietnam is as quaint and picturesque as the first time we cycled here more than a decade ago. Certainly, the country is thriving, but that just means the roads are a bit better (making our bikes a little happier) and even more luxurious hotels pepper the coast. The people remain the same: gracious, warm and infinitely inviting—and we certainly meet a lot of them on this epic journey from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh. In between, we take in all the highlights, from historic Hoi An to the Imperial tombs, to endless miles of scenic country and coastal roads.
*This trip has two different itineraries based on seasonality. November—December trips visit Nha Trang and January—April departures include Hue. Please request the itinerary that corresponds with the month you plan to travel. Price is inclusive of $395 internal flights.
