Which is how we approach the Veneto region. Historically, wealthy Venetians had mansions in the countryside here, and we explore some designed by the master himself: Andrea Palladio. The Veneto is home to good food and good drink (you've likely heard of two of its hallmarks, Valpolicella and Amarone). As the breadbasket of Italy, the gustatory adventures here are unrivalled: the Prosecco is local, vegetables come straight from the garden and pasta has been rolled the morning of.
