As you ride through lush fields along white-sand beaches, past quaint thatched cottages and ancient churches; the combination of these elements has created in Normandy a unique region. The locals speak of their love for the land as they speak of their attraction to the sea—a feeling you will share as you bike the Channel coast, pass historic beaches and visit the magical Mont Saint-Michel. Take a look at some of the below highlights to inspire your bespoke journey.

Discover the possibilities:

Normandy & Brittany Biking

Roll inland through the area's famous horse-breeding farms and deep forests that alternate with lush prairies. Bike the Channel coast past historic beaches to Brittany via the Mont Saint-Michel, the UNESCO World Heritage Site that sits on the border between the two former duchies. Sweeping views line your route, flipping between the countryside and the rocky coast, passing small hamlets, Belle Époque beach resorts and estuaries.

Normandy Walking

Walk through forests of centuries-old beech and oak trees, or along the famous cliffs of the Alabaster Coast. Browse the elegant shops of Honfleur, the artistic old harbour town which has been inspiring generations of artists since the time of Monet and Boudin. Hike coastal trails, retracing the footsteps of the Allied forces while hearing tales of the French Resistance. Catch a glimpse of the remains of Mulberry B encircling the blue bay at Arromanches and peer into the deep blue sea from above Pointe du Hoc.

Normandy Family Adventure

History comes to life here—and you will too. Spend a day (or more) with a WWII expert exploring the sites of the D-Day landings. Learn about the key role of the artificial harbour, pause to reflect at one of the many cemeteries and walk along Omaha beach—a serene stretch on which it is hard to believe the details of June 6, 1944, took place. Let’s not forget Medieval Normandy, from Rollo to William the Conqueror, Richard the Lionheart and Joan of Arc—discover why this stretch of land has produced such a colourful and often violent history.

Gastronomy in Normandy & Brittany

From the holy trinity of Norman cheeses to the fresh cold water seafood, and let’s not forget the apple-derived liqueurs, this region’s gastronomy may very well be the highlight of your trip. Feast on the famous agneau de pré-salé, the salt meadow lamb raised on the meadows surrounding the bay of Mont Saint Michel. Enjoy lunch with a baron who produces cider and Calvados at the family chateau—a chance to taste the liquid specialties and even learn a few secrets of the trade. Prefer a hands-on experience? Create your own culinary masterpiece at former 3-star Michelin Chef Olivier Roellinger’s cooking school on the coast of Brittany.
