Look Ma! Look Da!
Connemara and the west coast is Ireland at its most beautiful, remote, mythical best. Out here, the mountains dip down and level out into the lunar landscape of the bog and the diversity of nature, coupled with the constantly changing weather, breeds a character all its own. In the numerous villages and towns we’ll bike through, one can’t help but feel a true Irish welcome. With all this, who needs the leprechaun's gold?
We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.
These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.
“I can’t say I really ‘work out,’ but I’m in good shape and am relatively active.”
“I enjoy a good walk or ride, and feel comfortable while on the move.”
“I get moving at least once a week, and don’t mind a little sweat.”
“I get moving a few times per week and enjoy some exertion.”
“I want to feel invigorated each day and going hard how I like to do that.”

Day by Day
Explore the heart of Connemara, biking through the rugged contours of Cashel Bay. Kids enjoy a fun round of mini-golf while parents pedal north toward the Maumturk Mountains and the Twelve Pins. Later, a talented young sean nós dancer teaches the kids some fancy steps, then plays a lively music session.
Everyone starts the day with a beautiful cycle route near the sea, then adults ride on to charming Clifden, Connemara’s main market town. Afternoon ride out the jawdropping cliff-top loop known as the Sky Road, while kids lunch and play, then go for a pony trek on the beach.
Adults pedal the gorgeous Connemara loop, then the generations meet up with some sheep and their talented shepherds (two and four-footed!) Ride on to the village of Leenane for lunch, then parents continue around the head of Killary Bay while kids take on a our hotel-adventure center’s boulder wall.
Kids engage in a morning of archery as the grown-ups bike a glorious ride to Louisburgh. Together, ride into the shadow of Croagh Patrick, the highest peak in the region, before rolling into Westport, a vibrant market town.
Take a morning jaunt along the Great Western Greenway, crossing rivers and traversing forests, with panoramas of the Newport Bay's islands. Walk to the Westport House gardens and adjoining Pirate Adventure Park for some history and fun.
After breakfast this morning, embark on the 90-minute drive down to Galway City to exchange goodbyes with new friends, and from where rental cars, trains for Dublin or connecting transfers to Shannon Airport are available.
