We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.
These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.
“I can’t say I really ‘work out,’ but I’m in good shape and am relatively active.”
“I enjoy a good walk or ride, and feel comfortable while on the move.”
“I get moving at least once a week, and don’t mind a little sweat.”
“I get moving a few times per week and enjoy some exertion.”
“I want to feel invigorated each day and going hard is how I like to do that.”
The Rural Lands of Rajasthan
India is the land of kings and camels; where curry and karma entices, and desert mountains soar like nowhere else on earth. Beguile your senses with vibrant sights, smells and sounds, travelling from the bustling streets of New Delhi to the rural lands of Rajasthan. This journey abounds with authentic experiences—the omnipresent colour, the alleyways of ancient towns, and the contrasting opulence of the palaces and forts we visit (and stay in). Go behind the scenes on a private tour of Mehrangarh Fort and immerse yourself in the culture of this remarkable land. This is B&R’s India.

Raas Hotel, Jodhpur
Situated in the north-eastern quarter of the Walled City, RAAS is comprised of 4 charismatic ‘rose-red’ sandstone buildings dating back to the 18th century. With its vistas and grand guestrooms, gardens and private stables, RAAS is a microcosm of the city. And, like virtually every home in Jodhpur, almost every room in the hotel enjoys a spectacular view of Mehrangarh Palace. View hotel website »
Rawla Narlai, Rajasthan
This former hunting lodge of the Maharaja of Jodhpur is now a delightfully intimate retreat. Comfortable rooms and modern baths blend with the ancient aesthetics of Narlai, while the sound of gentle chanting from the many nearby temples and mosques adds a spiritual element to our stay. Chef Nate Singh prepares meals from secret recipes handed down for generations. View hotel website »
Devigarh Resort, Rajasthan
Tucked away in the Aravalli hills of Rajasthan, the 18thC resort has undergone years of restoration and reconstruction to regain its past glory. An impressive structure, it is now a boutique hotel with 23 suites and six tents. Each suite is unique: luxurious and embellished with marble and semi-precious stones, yet equipped with the most modern of conveniences. View hotel website »
Our private tour of the fort in Jodhpur at sunset was personal, informative, and felt like we had stepped back in time. Our local guide was truly a gift. He was fun, knowledgeable and filled with wonderful stories... he loved his work and it was apparent everyday throughout the trip.—Judy Newton
