Chile Bike Tours
A Country of Opposites
Geographically narrow. Culturally robust. Welcome to Chile. Dominated by the Andes and the Pacific on a strip of land that runs up South America’s south-western coast, Chile boasts a mix of European and indigenous influences that imbue the country with an old-school, European feel. The Mediterranean-like climate in its wine valleys has helped propel the country’s oenological offerings to international acclaim, and nowhere is this more evident than our final night hotel, the Vina Vik, recently named one of the world's best new hotels by Travel + Leisure magazine.
We use premium hotels that are unique expressions of the region. Often they’ve had a previous life as a monastery or a castle, but in every case they offer an exceptionally comfortable stay.
These are stylish 4-star properties that offer a casual and comfortable stay. Often without a 24-hour concierge or room service, they tend to be smaller family-run hotels that are perfect for the region.
“I can’t say I really ‘work out,’ but I’m in good shape and am relatively active.”
“I enjoy a good walk or ride, and feel comfortable while on the move.”
“I get moving at least once a week, and don’t mind a little sweat.”
“I get moving a few times per week and enjoy some exertion.”
“I want to feel invigorated each day and going hard is how I like to do that.”

Day by Day
Rendezvous in Santiago and head due west into the fertile and lush Casablanca Valley. Enjoy a brief tasting at Viñedos Orgánicos Emiliana, before heading out for a casual ride through farmland and past eucalyptus groves, then stop for lunch at Casa del Bosque
Today, the Andes will provide the perfect backdrop to the stunning San Antonio Valley as we ride a classic loop from the hotel, taking in a wine tasting, a horse handling demonstration and a typical asado-style lunch.
Pass through the exclusive beach resort of Santo Domingo before biking south, away from vines and emerging onto the coast, offering spectacular views. Stop for a casual lunch in the beach town of Matanzas before rolling along to our beach-side hotel.
Meet for lunch at a local picada and opt (or not) to stretch your legs with a century ride today. Enjoy dinner at the hotel after some down time by the pool.
Enjoy an easy ride through the colonial town of Santa Cruz and into the Apalta Valley, considered by many to be the countries premium wine making region.
Push inland to the Vik Hotel, arriving in time for a sumptuous lunch and wine tasting. The afternoon is yours to enjoy with the spa and infinity pool at your disposal – or head into the mountains by bike, foot or horse! This afternoon we will celebrate together in the hotels dining room.
After breakfast we’ll transfer back to Santiago arriving around noon.
