China Bespoke Biking 2008
“We have savoured every minute of our memories since returning from China... Every day brought the grandest sense of adventure. We hiked. We biked (in mud, on walls, and around the bend of the Yangtze). We cruised. We “cameled” across the desert. We sand-surfed. We rode horses to dinner. We went 431 kilometers on a mag train. We had conversation in a Chinese fisherman’s living room. We ate dinner with a Tibetan family and a celebration feast with the Naxi. We hung our own prayer flags and were blessed by monks. We laughed. We sang. We bargained. We danced.”

Morocco Bespoke With the Kids 2008
“Our Bespoke trip to Morocco with our kids was an incredible experience. In just ten days, we managed to get a good taste of the Moroccan landscapes, culture, people, food and history! We felt perfectly safe and well-looked after with our two guides, Cora and Antoine. They made sure that everyone, from adults to kids, was always happy and having the time of their lives. With the kids it was necessary to change plans on a whim and our guides were so accepting of this.”
Kingdom of the Clouds
When a group of college buddies approached us looking for a place to catch up and escape their busy lives for a while, the first place that sprang to mind was the Dolomites. Way up in the Italian Alps—where cellphones and BlackBerrys fear to tread—we treated them to a fine balance of activity and leisure: vigorous hikes with an experienced mountain guide, plenty of time spent exploring small valley towns, Michelin-starred meals and impeccable hospitality courtesy of our friends the Costas and La Perla, their magnificent mountaintop hotel. Our favourite part? Helping old friends reconnect while introducing them to a host of brand-new ones.
The World’s Greatest Aquarium
We understand that when it comes to activity level, not all travellers are created equal. Our challenge: build a trip for a multigenerational family that maximizes togetherness and active experiences. Our solution: five days in British Columbia’s Gulf Islands aboard the Pacific Yellowfin, a former coastal freighter converted into a charming wooden yacht. Zipping breezily from island to island, everyone had plenty to do; biking and kayaking for the kids, easy walks along sandy beaches and through vineyards for the grandfolks, the option of both for mom and dad, and a whale-watching expedition for the whole lot. They say families that play together stay together, and we’re always happy to provide the perfect playground.
The (Out)Back of Beyond
Australia’s a really big country (a really big continent, if you want to get technical); enormous in size, scope and diversity of experience. Recently, we were tapped by a group of three couples who wanted to combine city stays, the outback, the famed Ayer’s Rock and the Great Barrier Reef into one once-in-a-lifetime adventure. “No problem,” we said, and promptly came back to them with a 14-day Sydney-to-Cairns-and-back-again odyssey across eastern and central Australia. Beginning with three days in cosmopolitan Sydney, we then flew them to the Barossa Valley to sample the region’s top wines, went marsupial-spotting on Kangaroo Island, “camped” in style at an open-air hotel, and spent three days on Lizard Island, a remote spot in a national park on the Reef. Making the impossible possible? All in a day’s work.
Up Close and Personally Fun Two families. Four adrenaline-junkie tweens. Nine thrill-packed days. Do the math and the answer adds up to Costa Rica, a Central American paradise bursting with exotic animals to meet, waterfalls to splash in, and cliffs to rappel down. (The sun-soaked beaches, deluxe lodgings and ready-when-you-are massages don’t hurt, either.) Variable pace was the guideline for this trip; the kids were rarin’ to go, while the parents were eager to take things a little slower. To satisfy everyone, our guides arranged to keep the kids busy with a bottomless bag of active options—horseback riding, snorkelling, whitewater rafting—while the adults strolled the jungles and took it easy at our beachfront hotels. Final tally: eight happy travellers.
