Imperial Flavour
Sunrise in Hoi An, sunset in the Forbidden City. In between, a truly marvelous stroll through one of the most beautiful, flavourful and embraceable places anywhere. Quiet tree-lined country paths lead us to incredible beaches, banana plantations, thriving local markets and the occasional imperial tomb. Mealtimes present us with beef in lalot leaves, pho galore and a private cooking class. Bedtime comes swiftly after a dip in the pool or a relaxing treatment at a world-class spa. (In fact, we’re more than a little embarrassed to admit that we love the accommodations almost as much as everything). Does Vietnam spoil us? Yes. Yes it does.
Day 1 Explore Hué, the Imperial Forbidden City (don’t worry, we’ve got connections)
Day 2 Board our private riverboat and cruise up the Perfume River to the tomb of Minh Mang
Day 3 Walk to a small fishing village north of Da Nang and head into Hoi An (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) for lunch
Day 4 Walk a great trail that leads us past rice paddies, small villages, and plenty of cheerful kids
Day 5 Sip Champagne from the privacy of your boat-access-only beach villa as you take in an unforgettable sunset
Day 6 Indulge in luxury at the Six Senses Spa (this is a vacation, remember)
Day 7 Discover the impossibly fresh air that earns Da Lat the nickname “The City of Eternal Spring”
Day 8 Dine on delicious smoked duck salad or lobster consommé at Le Rabelais restaurant
Day 9 Walk amid the coffee plantations near Da Lat, then jet off for dinner in Hanoi
Day 10 Get an insider’s look at Hanoi’s delightfully chaotic street life via cyclo, a bike-powered cart
Day 11 Breakfast and tam biêt in Hanoi

Pilgrimage Village, Hué
The Pilgrimage Village is located in the peaceful countryside just 4 km (2 mi.) from the centre of Hué. You’ll come to appreciate this after learning that the only thing the Vietnamese love more than waking up early is honking the horns on their mopeds! The rooms are simple but comfortable, personal, and stylish.

Barbara & Robert Breyer
Vietnam Walking 2009
“This was an absolutely fantastic trip! While we enjoyed our four previous B&R trips to Europe, the Vietnam experience is in a class of its own. Our guides, Marco and Karen, each contributed their own unique and complimentary skills. The complicated logistics, including air, van, boat transfers, were handled with aplomb. The local guides, Tuan & Hung, were a pleasure to travel with and really helped us to feel that we were seeing Vietnam. We can’t imagine seeing Vietnam any other way and that is what we would advise others planning a trip to this country. For us, the most magical moment occurred at the beginning of the Day 1 walk with the rice paddies in front of us under a deep blue sky. A close second occurred when a whole school yard of children surrounded Marco during their recess. B&R trips are not inexpensive; however, we found our Vietnam walking trip to be a real value.”

Vietnam Walking 2009
"To a fellow traveller: It was the first time in my life I was spoiled beyond belief; you wiz through airports and your team are at hand every step of the way. Your hotels are already prepared, meals booked, and nothing is too much for your B&R representative. Thank you all for making this a great memory."
