A Journey of Zero Steps
Think having small children disqualifies you from experiencing the joys of Tuscany? Neither do we, especially given how much there is to do here for both adults and tykes alike. After settling you into your hotel (say, perchance, CasaBianca, a charming 15thC villa), we can arrange everything from romantic dinners and guided historical walks through vineyards and olive groves, découpage lessons and medieval games for the kids, and bike rides for the whole family (specially tailored for little legs) down cypress-lined streets past the family farms and peaceful hilltop villages of the dramatic Tuscan countryside. Bottom line: everyone has a vacation for the ages, regardless of age.
Here’s a sample of what you can expect on your custom-designed Bespoke Tuscany Homebase adventure. Intrigued? Contact a Bespoke Trip Planner for further details.
Day 1 Watch your kids discover the joy of travel through playing with clay, terra cotta and watercolours at a fun découpage class
Day 2 Visit the beautiful hill town of Cortona and discover why Frances Mayes fell in love with it
Day 3 Prowl the medieval streets of Siena, home of the famed Palio horse race
Day 4 Pedal along gently rolling hills where much of The English Patient was filmed
Day 5 Sample vino nòbile and Super Tuscans at a wine estate, then feast with our trusted local friends, who’ll redefine the term “family picnic” forever
Day 6 Breakfast in the Crete Senesi, then ciao in Florence

Borgo CasaBianca, Crete Senesi
The Borgo CasaBianca, an elegant 15thC villa hotel overlooking the rolling farms of the Crete Senesi, is one of the highlights of our time in Tuscany. Our gracious hosts, Alba and Luigi Scaperotta, produce their own wine and olive oil, and give us a pizza-making demo using the villa’s original wood-burning oven.

Tuscany Bespoke With the Kids
“This was our fifth B&R trip. Every time we travel with B&R, we are amazed at their ability to find unique local experiences. This was our first trip with our daughter, who is 11 months old. As anxious parents, B&R did a fantastic job of making arrangements that made it possible for us to have a relaxing trip.”

Easygoing to Moderate
This trip is rated Easygoing to Moderate. Since most towns in Tuscany are perched on magnificent hilltops, most days include some challenging climbs. Daily biking distances range from 5 to 49 km (3 to 30 mi.), with shorter distances for family rides. We’ve also planned lots of fun alternatives for young travellers. The B&R van is always nearby for those looking to hitch a ride.
