Ride hard and reap the rewards
The 2011 Tour was quite a race! Australia claimed its first ever victory, while the infamous Schleck brothers snatched up second and third places—Andy’s third consecutive bridesmaid finish. 2012 should be equally (if not more) exciting; the inclusion of a few new stage sites will certainly spice things up. Regardless of who the frontrunners are, the Tour invariably promises high tension, particularly in the mountains, where the roads switchback and the steep grades separate out the real contenders. We, of course, will be there to witness all the epic moments: the climb at La Planche des Belles Filles in the Vosges, and the Alpine finish at La Toussuire.
Day 1 We’ll connect with the peloton today, high in the Vosges mountains to witness the finish of stage seven
Day 2 Ride through the Jura Moutains in Switzerland on our way to witness the drama of stage eight
Day 3 Leaving the peaks behind us, we’ll power on to Besancon in time for what will be the highlights of the individual time trial
Day 4 The tour rests today but we don’t as we head south and ride into the Laps with Lake Annecy at our backs
Day 5 Cycle south through the hills and villages of the Chartreuse Massif on a loop ride from our hotel
Day 6 The big Alpine stage today and we’ll be there atop La Toussuire to witness the 2012 contenders’ battle their way to the finish of stage eleven
Day 7 Breakfast and then au revoir in Chambery

Jeff Wills
The Tour Biking 2010
“This trip was amazing—I wish I was still on it now. I was told it was going to be great by others who have done B&R trips but it was still better than I expected. My Tour de France trip was the perfect mix of quality riding, live exposure to the race, and the rest of the experience including the hotels, meals, support, sites, and the other travellers. The bike routes were the highlight for me. Without the trip planning and guides, there is no way to ride the phenomenal routes we did—particularly riding to and from the Col de Painhere—incredible! The next trip I do will be with my entire family.”

“The chance to experience the Tour de France is not to be missed! B&R made it a wonderful, multifaceted experience.”

The Tour Biking 2010
“The Tour Biking trip is one of those ‘once in a lifetime experiences’. We commented, there isn’t any other sport that allows the ‘fans’ to be up close and personal with the world’s best athletes. Having a rest day in Morzine along with the riders afforded us a three hour experience talking with mechanics and the riders. We say AWESOME! Olivier, Fanny and Mark did a SUPERB job to create a memorable trip for all of us. Merci beaucoup! We say ‘allez’ and Bravo!”
Jeff Moslow
The Tour Biking 2010
“This trip was fabulous—what makes the trip are the guides and the people. We were a great group and our guides were awesome. It was our second time with Mark and Fanny, so it meant that we already had a relationship with them which was nice; Olivier was awesome too! The farmhouse in Morzine was an exceptional experience—I would love to go back, stay there and enjoy the cycling.”

Challenging
This trip is rated Challenging. Almost all of our rides have long and often steep climbs, although the B&R van is never far away if you need a break. On trip, the truly fanatical can log 400+ km (250+ mi.) and nearly 5,000m (16,000ft) of vertical on the roads.
