Northern Exposure
Famous for its meatballs, sensible cars and DIY furniture, Sweden’s not as staid as you might think. This laidback Nordic utopia of tranquil landscapes is no stranger to adrenaline and derring-do (it was base camp for the Vikings, remember), as you'll learn should you choose to discover its awesome biking potential. From the Baltic Sea island of Gotland—1,700 km (1,056 mi.) of flat roads, infinite routes and historical accents—you can visit the walled city of Visby before moving to the mainland on almost traffic-free roads. Cozy towns and snapshot-worthy coastlines mark the path to majestic Mariefred and modern Stockholm, the cosmopolitan capital and a noble prize in its own right. Low-key? Absolutely. Boring? Not a chance.
Here’s a sample of what you can expect on your custom-designed Bespoke Sweden adventure. Intrigued? Contact a Bespoke Trip Planner for further details.

Clarion Hotel Wisby, Visby
Located right in the centre of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Visby, this property almost feels like the showpiece of the town. Modern rooms and amenities blend seamlessly with the historic stone building from the Hanseatic era. Among its features is an indoor swimming pool in the medieval cellar, and an impossibly romantic restaurant with superb food.

Grand Hôtel, Stockholm
Simply put, the Grand has always been the place to stay in Stockholm. Though large, the hotel successfully retains an intimate feeling with attention to detail and top-notch service. Everything important that has happened in Stockholm either happened here, or was initiated by someone staying here. Our rooms offer unparalleled views of Stockholm harbour.

Easygoing to Moderate
This trip is rated Easygoing to Moderate. The daily rides average approximately 50 km (31 mi.) over terrain that is predominantly flat to very gently rolling. Landscape includes flat pine forests, sheep farms and lots of waterways (rivers, lakes, the Baltic Sea). Van support may be a little tricky on the first two days of riding in Stockholm due to our use of bike paths; it is fine thereafter.
