Welcome to Our Place
Cradled by the regal Alps and awash in gastronomic and viticultural treasures, Piemonte is the food-and-wine equivalent of a great big hug. Spangled with more Michelin stars than any other region in Italy, it’s a veritable Shangri-La for foodies, while the drop-dead-gorgeous countryside makes for some of the finest walking anywhere. Our close connections here let us show you Piemonte at its best, from a private vineyard picnic to an insider’s view of Alba to the region’s truffle hunter extraordinaire. And wherever we end up, the modest Piemontese welcome us with open arms (not to mention full plates). The secrets are theirs. The pleasure’s all yours.
Day 1 Walk the peaceful vineyards of the hillside town of Cisterna d’Asti, in the shadow of its imposing castle
Day 2 Dine on the creations of siblings Ivana and Davide Palluda at Michelin-starred All’Enoteca
Day 3 In the wild Alta Langa, meet a trifulao (truffle hunter) for some insight into the nature of the hunt
Day 4 Walk through historic Alba with our local guide, then go shopping for handmade leather shoes or Barolo

Linda DeRenzo
Piemonte Walking 2010
“It was a spectacular trip and Marya Dumont was a great guide and host. It was the best trip we’ve done with B&R and everything was pretty much perfect. We loved Piemonte and we truly could not have had a better guide than Marya or a better all around experience. We could not have been better taken care of and truly appreciate you having let us travel with Marya for the week. We'll be back for sure!”

Piemonte Walking 2010
“Perfectly planned and excellently executed. The hikes were outstanding, but most memorable was the food and wine—great variety and terrific choices of locale, menus and wine. Of our eight trips with B&R this was the best trip yet. Thanks!”

Piemonte Walking 2010
“There were so many unforgettable moments on the Piemonte trip: walking among the vineyards and hazelnut groves; learning about the grape varieties from the local experts and drinking the wine made from those grapes; watching Diana the truffle dog search for truffles (and savouring the handful she unearthed sliced over pasta at lunch!); eating fresh salad and drinking delightful house wine in the sunshine at a little cafe on the square in Monteforte; walking, laughing and dining with eight old B&R friends and wonderful new friends; and, of course, being taken care of by our fabulous guides, Dana and Alessio (how do we live our regular life without B&R guides?)!”

Moderate
This trip is rated Moderate. Our walking is always somewhat hilly with a few steep sections. For the most part, we stay on the dirt paths that run through the vineyards and forests, but we occasionally take quiet asphalt roads. The daily distances and long options range from 8 to 24 km (5 to 15 mi.) with excellent van support for when you're ready to relax back at the hotel.
