The Slow Road
Postcards from... Tyler Dillon on the Indochina Grand Journey

Fantastic Voyage: Scroll through these amazing photos from B&R’s grandest journey presented by guide Tyler Dillon. Taken on the inaugral departure last January, it depicts the fantastic experiences our travellers had while touring through Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia. Grand indeed! Perhaps it will inspire you to join our next Indochina Grand Journey.

Arriving in style
“We had to figure out how to get to the hotel somehow, be it bike, boat, plane, or... elephant. Sometimes you've got to think outside the box when working with B&R.”

A ride between Laos and Thailand
“A ride between Laos and Thailand on the river we follow throughout the trip- the mighty Mekong.”

Tales from a local friend
“After a beautiful ride through Northern Thailand’s countryside, we had enough time to stop and take some sound advice from a local friend and hear the story of the Buddha, told from within the sacred walls of this temple.’’

From private jet to bike
“From private jet to bike: the locals asked if our plane had broken down- our answer was that we prefer to ride through their gorgeous country. When they opened the airport gates for us we literally rode through customs!”

Budhists at Luang Probang
“Another sunrise moment (it seems there are quite a few on this trip!)- this one is from Luang Probang. A tradition of taking alms at sunrise is one that has been going on across the Buddhist world for thousands of years.”

Luang Probang
“Tuk tuks, monks and Laosian and French architecture make Luang Probang a true melting pot.”

Endless fields of rice paddies
“The endless fields of paddies never get old. This is the perfect place for a ride.”

Nothing you'd expect
“What more can I say about this one?”

King Jayavarman VII
“This is from one of my most favourite walks in Asia- it is B&R’s little secret and it gets you up face to face with King Jayavarman VII.”

Angkor Wat at Sunrise
“The Angkor Wat Complex is one of those geographical places on the planet that have a special sort of energy about it- especially at sunrise! It is almost an uncontrollable compulsion I have when I am there, to wake up before the sun rises and ride out to the moat around the main temple, and watch that big orange ball of fire come up over the horizon.”
