B&R doesn’t do tours—we run trips that bring together a few like-minded travellers who enjoy doing their own thing. We don’t travel en masse. We bike or walk at our own pace. Do we come together now and then? Yes, but that’s because we like to.

We know you love your freedom. That’s why we plan your day—meticulously—but never chain you to it. Dine with the group, or wander off in search of adventure and that out-of-the-way bistro that caught your eye. We know that the most memorable moments happen when the best-laid plans reinvent themselves and you’re free to follow your whims.

2012 B&R Traveller Photo Contest

Each traveller may submit a maximum of 5 photos per trip & may submit photos from more than one trip. Only photos that have not previously been entered in a B&R Traveller Photo contest may be submitted.
Only digital photos will be accepted. Each digital entry must be saved as a normal quality JPEG with a file size no smaller than 1 MB and no larger than 5 MB. Computer-altered photographs are not eligible and will not be accepted for consideration.
Each photo must be accompanied with the following information for each image: the trip on which it was taken, the approximate date the image was taken and the category for which it is being submitted. We also encourage you to submit a short paragraph (3-4 sentences) that describes the moment that the photo was taken, or your memory of the trip.
Only images taken on Butterfield & Robinson trips taken after December 31, 2004 are eligible for entry. Each image must be entered in one of three image categories: Places, Faces and Moments.
Submissions for the 2012 Contest commence February 1, 2012 and end on November 14, 2012. Winners will be notified by December 31, 2012
Trip credits are applicable to any B&R Trip, and are valid for two years from the date of issue and are non-transferable.
For each image used by B&R (other than for promoting the 2012 Contest or any other photo contest on our website and by email), a one-time $250 trip credit (non-transferable, valid for two years from date of issuance), will be awarded.

“It was a warm cloudy day in Hanoi—I came across in the woods by the stream, a mother and her daughter getting some water, I took this picture from a distance and I got a little closer and took some more but the best shot was this one taken far away in the beautiful light of the forest. I especially like the fact that you can't see the faces only the moment.”
